Even though the album leaked on the net months ago and has been officially released in Canada and The U.K. already, you can preview Melanie Fiona’s debut album, The Bridge on MYSPACE.COM. If you’re feeling the music, make sure to go out and support her. I mean, the woman can actually sing and that’s always a plus.
You can also peep her ‘Subway Series’ video below, where she performs some of the songs off the album with actual NYC street performers. The Bridge hits stores in the U.S. on November 3rd.

I checked her out on youtube and I like everything I heard from her! Her voice is no joke! I saw some of her live performance and she killed it! I been feelin this chick for a while now. Love her voice! Glad she is getting some shine. No gimmicks. Not half naked in all her videos. not walking down the streets in costumes showing her goods. Ok, I definitly think she can sing and “It kills me” was my joint! But I checked out her album preview on her Myspace and I haven’t really heard much else I like! I wanted to love it, and I thought I would, but nothing else got my attention like ‘It kill me”! Like someone said earlier I checked her out on Youtube, and I love everything I heard, but I don’t know about the album! I think I will get though, cause I think she is really talented and I will always support real talent. I just think that her ish will have to grow on me!

I LOVE her album! “It Kills Me” is, of course the standout track, but “Sad Songs” and “Ay Yo” are always on repeat as well. She is a true soul singer. No one else in the game right now can touch her vocally. As much as I love music, she has come out and beat everyone else in one fell swoop. She just knows what to do with her voice and when to do it. She was born to sing.

she is on her promotional grind, but i love how she’s come up with such great concepts. the street performers collabos was a fabulous idea and she pulled it off flawlessly….
the album is not a straight R&B album and some songs may take a minute to like…but overall i dig her and the concept and she has an amazing voice….

I think Melanie is a good singer, but I don’t really think she has a unique voice. Her voice is very forgettable or reminds me of another artist (s). She sounds like a mixture of Deborah Cox and Keyshia Cole with a touch of Sunshine Anderson to me. I don’t see a lot of people buying her cd, especially if it’s already free to hear on her myspace. But maybe I’m wrong. I hope she is successful though and wish her the best.
