Singer/Dancer Omarion, recently sat down with The Boombox and gave his opinion about the dark-side of the music industry, which has become a hot topic because of the whole Tiffany Evans/Rihanna controversy from a couple weeks ago. Well check out Omarion’s take on it:
“I don’t personally know Rihanna’s beliefs but I think there’s a very dark and very sinister part of the entertainment business and I think it’s very visible,” he said. “This is something that a lot of people don’t look at [but for example] Michael Jackson used to be a Jehovah’s Witness and I remember hearing that he wanted to separate from the religion — and this was during the time that he was doing ‘Thriller’ [which ended up being] his biggest album.”“Fast forward to now,” Omarion continued, “[and] it really made me think that there is a [time as an artist] where there’s going to be a choice. The[entertainment] world [dictates] that you have to be with three or four women, or do this in order to get that [and] I think it’s really interesting. With God and the industry, it’s really dark. The dark side is having to get in, there’s a certain submission you need to have. Just like a gang [initiation], so to speak. You might have to do something against your moral code. I’m not saying that it’s always this way, but when you’re someone that is young and you’re coming up in the industry and you really don’t have a grip on your morals it can be very dark. The game is just about over saturation.
“I don’t know if Rihanna [has fallen victim to those pressures]. I’ve never really heard her speak about it,” he said. “I hope that she doesn’t believe in that stuff and I don’t think that she does, but I don’t know. It’s not just been a Rihanna thing, [there's has been religious speculation] about a lot of artists.”

I may be 17 but I can express myself very well and this subject about art is a subject I like to discuss. I just want more African Americans to be more accepting of different expressions. But if Rihanna’s image is not for you I can understand that. But Russian Roulette is not about suicide. These are visual images that drive home a point in a graphic way. I can’t wait to see the video.
I support different artistic expressions and to me saying that Rihanna is into Satan or the Illuminati is at play really makes no sense and it frustrates me when people are so closed minded.

He doesn’t seem as though he’s being judgmental when he speaks of this, but he does make sense. Unfortunately people do become industry made. Omarion should have done his home work before he spoke about Michael Jackson.
Michael (as stated in earlier post) left Jehovah Witness or may have been asked to leave due to the strict restrictions they had regarding his success, music and dancing.
After his departure, he continued to and always said he tried to live ‘God like’. During his televised statement in ’93 he quoted the Bible in reference to the way he lives his life.
He always credited God before and after Thriller for inspiring his talents regarding singing, dancing and writing music. He always stressed his music was more then him.
His sing coach Seth Riggs said Michael would pray and thank Jahohav for blessing him with his gift during coaching sessions.

First off Rihanna is not my “GOD”. And I’m very spiritual and music can’t change my relationship with The Most High.
I have met Rihanna a few times and she was 100% gracious and sweet….very respectful of her fans with her time. But the point is I respect her as an ARTIST.
I love the arts and people who express themselves through different mediums. As a young lady I really respect what Rihanna as accomplished. I’m 17 and very inspired by her strength especially after all she has been through. I love her new image and that she has chosen to move into something darker and more expressive. Bolder images and subject matter is a natural evolution for her. I’m so sick of boring R&B and I’m very grateful for artist like Kanye and Rihanna who push the boundaries of the art form. They really appeal to me and my friends. Rihanna is the voice of our generation and kids of today (that I know) are so bored with BET . We like alt bands and music with some impact so when I heard Russian Roulette I was very excited.
Neyo really impressed me because working with Rihanna allowed him to explore some new musical concepts and now I’m more interested in him.
