I thought I was the only one that notice Alicia Keys voice not what it used to be either, it sounds like she struggling extra hard this time around. And ‘am I the only one who doesn’t like the old ass 80 water color album art work. That shyt look like something old. I hope she did grow on this cd. If not I have to agree with whom ever said that.

I like the song and yes it is similiar to No One but so what every artist on each of there albums have songs that sound similiar. As long as it isn’t the whole album so I will wait for the whole album and not trip over one song. She always delivers anyway. As I Am first week sales were over 740,000 so obviously she did something right.
@49 Alicia Keys was successful after her first album because she had mad talent. I’m this woman was the iiiiiiiiiiiiish. Yes, I do believe biracial R&B woman can crossover quickly…but I loved Alicia’s first two albums purely based on her raw, insane talent.
Do I think Alicia is as talented as she used to be? No. I think she fell off with As I am. The writing wasn’t as strong.. every song on that album sounded exactly the same..pretty much.

Homewrecker or not, Alicia Keys is wack now! She is so boring and old. Not old in age, but old in career! I just noticed how much I can’t stand her voice. Yes, she can sing, but she shouts more than she sings. Her voice doesn’t have personality, smoothness, or rawness like Mariah Carey’s or Leona Lewis’. I think she just gets all of this credit because of the hype of her being so “classy” which we all know has turned out to be a lie. I also don’t get why people praise her for playing the paino… many singers, play some type of instrument LOOK AT ALL OF THOSE ROCK or Jazz BANDS. Just because she’s commercialized singer and plays the paino makes her no special than the ones we “don’t hear about.”

I understand when someone tries to have a signature sound, but I don’t think that’s what it is with her. I think that she only has so much to give as a musician and a performer.
But, I guess, it doesn’t matter because there is musician for everybody, and what she’s giving seems to be enough for some people.
