Like I told Angel you don’t need a record company to sell records. Amerie just has to hustle. There are plenty of people who have sold records without even being on a major label. So I don’t feel sorry for her.

Its such ashamed how little backing Amerie’s project has gotten compared to that other piece of trash on her label. And as a result of that, her album sales will fail miserably. The bar has been set by mainstream American media, and brainwashed Rihorrid & Beyonce fans on what a singer should look, act and perform like and now all these other talented female artist are falling short; ultimately their careers are suffering. I wish her the best; Def Jam will be releasing her from her contract following this album.

Amerie’s first album was spotless…her second effort was right up there with her first LP. The third release was not that inviting and definetly needed some guidance (some Rich Harrison guidance).

I think Amerie suffers from the same syndrome Janet Jackson suffer’s from. They both left the producer’s that understand them vocally and artistically. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis understood Janet Jackson as an artist…simple things like knowing what key an artist sings in (best) can make a huge difference. I believe Rich Harrison pulled the best out of Amerie. He understood her voice and how to stretch her vocally without it sounding forced.

Amerie, please get back with your man hun’. Settle your differences and return to making music that fits you as an artist. Don’t follow all these other artist(s) that continue to name chase and make mediocre LP’s. Why would you wanna sound like everybody else?

Amerie never sounds like everybody else. Even when she worked with Sean Garrett she still had her own sound. You like the old Amerie, while some of us like how she is expanding and doesn’t stick in one genere of music. In this album she gave us all sides of her last 3 albums so I think you would be satisfied, but o well if your not.

This album is a bore, she needs to go back to the first when it was good music and less about style. This s like the last two.

Its too bad Def Jam didn’t promote this album she has some hitters on here. IDK what their problem is but they need to get it together…real talk.

She went to Gerogetown and graduated with a degree in English and Fine Arts. Im sure she will be fine. Unlike most artists at least she has something to fall back on.

Facts. Amerie + Rich Harrison= winning formula. Amerie + overseas= EUROS. hallo? US fame does not equal dollars. Honestly, being a star in Europe is actually more beneficial financially. Amerie + Def Jam= terrible promotion. Why? Because Rihanna has an album coming out, and she’s way more newsworthy. She’s got a “story/scandal” to promote/capitalize on. Amerie is talented. I love Amerie to death. The girl is beautiful, talented, the whole nine yards. Its really a shame that people would settle, and spend their money on gimmicky artist with no talent what so ever. Praising them because they where nice clothes, and make “catchy” music, not good music, but “catchy” music. I bought her album on my way to school and listened to it in my 5TH period computer class, and I loved it to death. Truly one of the top 5 RandB albums of the year. Even with the amazing music on her album, I’m prepared for her album to not do that good. But I wish her all the best, and hope she has success. She deserves it….And by the way, I’m new to CL, and let me just say, I love it. Espically the background work.

I’m sick of hearing the comparisons between Amerie and Beyonce and Rihanna.

Personally, I am not impressed with Rihanna. She doesn’t have any hand in making her music; no writing, no productions, nothing.

Beyonce is good. I’m not going to deny that. I’m pretty much over her though. She’s just too typical I guess, I don’t know.

Now Amerie, I love her. Give me an artist who writes her own songs, has a hand in productions, and can actually make good songs without working with the biggest producers right now (yes, that’s a diss to beyonce and rihanna, and I love the-dream) any day.

I LOVE In Love & War. It is probably one of the best packaged albums I’ve heard all year. The album has a real theme, an understandable theme and not just some songs thrown onto an album. That’s why I love Amerie; she’s original, she doesn’t do what everyone else is doing. I don’t care if she sells as long as she keeps making great music. Definitely check out her new album if you haven’t heard it.

Don’t blame the label. I just think listeners are not feeling her anymore. Competition is steep these days, and if you aren’t getting beat up, in a sex tape, or nude on-line, you can’t be on top unless you’re the absolute total package.

Either Def Jam have played it too safe or she’s just not made for this industry.

Despite the album might not score to the top doesn’t mean it’s a bad album. People tend to confuse quantity with quality. She has quality. I’ll be getting your album Amerie. At the end of the day, you’re the real artist with the real talent, alot of artists can’t say that.

Def Jam didn’t really promote Ghostdini The Wizard of Poetry either and thats the best release of the year by far, that cd is THE sh*T..but those of us who know, KNOW and spreaded the word……

love the album, its a banger,definitely one of the better R&B releases this year. For the next album, she should go back to Rich but I dont want him to do all of the tracks. Sometimes, you will have chemistry for one or two albums with the person (i.e. Amerie-Rich Harrison, Brandy-Rodney Jerkins). Then, when you reunite with the person, the chemistry is not there anymore because the producer and artist have grown (i.e. Brandy and Rodney with Human).

I went through a debacle just to get this album! They were sold out at Best Buy so I had to cop it at Target. I just got through listening to the album now and I must say that it’s a phenomenal effort! The tracks seamlessly flow right into another which was very much appreciated by me because nowadays “artists” just throw a collection of songs together without making it a cohesive.

Some say Amerie can’t sing because she “sounds like she’s screaming,” but I think otherwise. She has a VERY distinctive sound, very raspy and in your face. I swear I hear a young Michael when she sings. She’s very versatile. Just youtube her.

It’s a damn shame that she is so underrated. Here is an artist who is original, loves, lives, and breathes music and she can’t get any shine. It’s a crying shame. Her music is more sophisticated and for the grown and sexy anyway. What do these kids know about good r&b music? Oh wait, that’s right… just take a look at billboard, that says it all.

Completely agree with #30 re: Rich Harrison. I wrote this last week- Amerie should reunite with Rich Harrison. Though he got a lot of press and acknowledgement with “Crazy in Love”, I felt that both his and Amerie’s greatest work were on “All I Have.” They have great chemistry. That said, I listened to the preview of the album in its entirety and I enjoy it much more. It is much better than I originally thought. It’s a fine effort by Amerie, and I hope she has the opportunity to collaborate again with Rich Harrison on the next one (if there is one).

For some reason I dislike Amerie. she has SUCH a boring personality and her music never excites me. She’s talented though- gotta give her that. I agree that she should be promoted way more. If it wasn’t for some blogs, I wouldn’t have even known she had a song/album out.
