Alicia Keys drops the new video for her second single, “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart.”
The new single comes from Alicia’s forthcoming album, Elements of Freedom, which is slated to hit stores December 18th.

The video was cohesive and fitting because of who she was singing to and about. Just like the “Doesn’t Mean Anything” video, she is once again singing to the sun god, which is why the sun is a major character in this video, even more than the man who is her alleged love interest. The man is only in the video to cause confusion to the average viewer. It is a lineal and thematic continuance from the “Doesn’t Mean Anything” video because in that video, she walked the path, ascended the mountain, and attaiined her “goddesshood”. Now we see her in full form as a goddess, healing animals, jumping over buildings, and still praising the source of her “divine” power and husband that she cannot have, that being the sun god Horus. The “broken-heart” theme is an allusion to Satan. The Church of Satan under Anton LaVey was also known as the “Heartbreak Hotel” or “Hotel California”. This is why it is so prevalent amongst these “artists” to wear sweaters with broken hearts on them, or some type of heart theme. It is an ode to their god. In ancient Egypt, the sun was likened unto the heart according to the Egyptian mysteries because the sun was viewed as the “heart” (source of life) of the universe. Furthermore, she shows herself to be MK-ULTRA with that butterfly tattoo that the video goes out of it’s way to highlight. This also represents her “transformation”.

This song and video are so wack. Alicia Keys is extremely boring and repeatitive. She keeps on making songs that talk about the same thing or sound very similar. I do like how she hasn’t turned to shaking her a** in videos, even though she is a homewrecker, but Miss Keys has had her share of being in a bra and topless on magazines. I’m surprised people didn’t even know.

You are right, Ms keys does make songs that are very similar. Infact it seems like she trys to use the same formula time and time again. NO ONE is very similar to “DOES’NT MEAN ANYTHING” Instrumental wise and Lyrical wise. While on the other hand “LIKE YOU’LL NEVER SEE ME AGAIN” and TRY SLEEPING WITH A BROKEN HEART are very similar Vocally and have that same PRINCE feel going on
I guess the next single will be an ODE to either TEENAGE LOVE AFFAIR or SUPERWOMAN

Where do you get your information from? Just wondering. Also to add, you mention Egypt and sun worship etc. Keep in mind you shouldn’t link Masonry’s botched twist to Kemet because THEY stole alot of symbolism from Africa esp Kemet (Egypt).
