After the announcement of the collaboration and the fluke premiere that was supposed to take place on November 5th, fans have been wagging their tongues for the remix between Beyonce and Lady Gaga for her latest single, “Video Phone.”
The video was shot a few weeks ago in New York by famed video director, Hype Williams. The track, which was produced by Bangladesh and co-written by Beyonce and Sean Garrett will be featured on the platinum edition of Beyonce’s third studio album, I Am… Sasha Fierce, which will hit stores on November 23rd, along with the rerelease of Gaga’s album, The Fame Monster.

Lady Gaga looked like a crackhead. Beyonce had the spotlight, it was all about her and Gaga was an afterthought. I even forgot she was in the video. Beyonce was doing a lot, and was extremely raunchy. I feel like the video played mind games on me.

Hype williams is OVER as a video director. He has NO new tricks? Flickering screen, check. Super color saturated scenes with solid colored backgrounds, check. This video could have been made 10 years ago.
This feels like a money grab, nothing really all that new from beyonce moves wise. She needs to hire a new choreographer to give her something fresh and different. You can only pop so much before people get bored.
And about the remix, they couldnt spend more money on the production of the song? Its basically a “broomcloset remix” with gaga just singing over the existing song. They shouldve at least give the song a little something different, not just have gaga run into some studio, and phone in her vocals. Lame attempt all around.
Beyonce needs to learn that It doesnt take an entirely new album to give a new look and feel for your fans. I would like to see here in something more than unitards, and legless ensembles.

Well, the video did live up to the expectations! I am still not a huge fan of the song & I was extremely disappointed by Lady Gaga’s verse (I don’t think she rode the beat to well at all) but I figured the video would make up for the song! Same with Bey’s collab with Shakira. I wasn’t too crazy about the song but the video made up for it. You can’t go wrong with two hot chicks and two of the biggest acts out right now in a video together! I don’t think it is epic, but hot none the less! I still think that Bey is trying to capitalize off of Lady Gaga’s popularity right now ( I mean was there really a need for her to release yet another single from that album), but to each its own!
