Directed by Hype Williams, the video was shot in New York and features the True Worship Church Choir.

I think one of those guys were the (gay) guys who appeared on Oprah when she performed…
I also remember them from the University of Mizzou, where they were “out” and about when I went.
It’s amazing how people will absolutely love a video with someone getting shot under water and singing about a terrible relationship that equates to russian roulette but absolutely hate a song that talks about wanting to know what real love is. And you can not even begin to tell me Mariah Carey can’t sing.
Simple is more somtimes, I think that may be why Hype chose this approach. It is simple and actually quite a beautiful theme.
However, I just don’t agree with Mariah remaking this song. The original, his voice is so powerful and brings someting so different. That is what I think is throwing this off. She shouldn’t have covered it.

i love Mariah and i love the song (and i LOOOOVE the hair!) but the vid looks a little cheap and that outfit is a bit too sexy for a vid like this. she should’ve worn a gown… i like the concept but it didn’t work out too well. hopefully her next vid will be better then this one.
