As soon as Lady Gaga stepped on the scene, that was pretty much the end for Rihanna.
The Video is Morbid and the song is even more dark and creepier. Rihanna has epically failed with her whole ‘Rated R’ album effort. Lets face it she cannot compete with the likes of Gaga. She could not manage to get SIX MILLION views on her video in within the three days it debuted like Gaga- that shiiiiiiisssh is classical right there!
The thing with Rihanna is she dont have flexibility. She is a pretty much lucklustre artist. She was never talented, she was just the chick of the moment back in 2004/5 and now her moment is up. She doesn’t have the talent to have longevity. She reminds me of ashanti, when she first came out everyone loved her, then has her career furthered people began to realise how whack and lame she was as an artist… the same goes for Rihanna.
Anthony Medler can try to make her video look as edgy as he wants, her team can even believe that they can rival Lady Gaga with her styling ‘Edge’ factor etc etc. But you cannot teach a dog old tricks and yes indeed Rihanna is a OLD DOG!
She has no star appeal and she is a puppet! Least with Lady Gaga you can see that she has a passion for music and Performing, she puts in the work and the creativity and she gets the results. People cannot deny how genius Gaga is with her craft.

I normally don’t like her songs, but I did like the video. It was a WHOLE HELLUVA lot better that “wait is ova”. I still don’t care for the song, but I can see all the metaphors in this video. It is well put together and DARE I SAY IT – creative. I won’t watch it again , but I mean, I don’t feel like a wasted a few minutes of life.

Love love LOVE the video! I was able to see the video before it was pulled and all i can say is WOW!!!! I was sitting on the edge of my seat like I was watching some block bluster movie and the most pivatol part was about to happen. You know it’s coming but you can’t turn away because you are afraid you are going to miss something. She did good with this video and I am sure it will get people to talking.
I literally screamed out loud when the male lead in the video spun the chamber on the gun thus beginning the actual game of Russian Roulette. The fear and uncertianty was shown and it made the scene all the more haunting. I think my favorite scenes of the video is when she is in the gas chamber and damn near daring them to release the gases on her. The car scene and water scenes spoke volumes as well.
The entire video was a metaphor and showed the various test she was put through and yet she survived them all. I think I screamed again at the end of the video when the shot rang out and Rihanna was the one who won the game. No matter what she was faced with she emerged as the victor and I loved it!
Can’t wait for Rihanna and her era of Rated R. I think with the video and songs on the cd we will see growth and a different kind of Rihanna and that is a good thing. The true mark of a good artist is being able to grow and show that growth in your music, videos, and most importantly self.
