The Video is Morbid and the song is even more dark and creepier. Rihanna has epically failed with her whole ‘Rated R’ album effort. Lets face it she cannot compete with the likes of Gaga. She could not manage to get SIX MILLION views on her video in within the three days it debuted like Gaga- that shiiiiiiisssh is classical right there!

The thing with Rihanna is she dont have flexibility. She is a pretty much lucklustre artist. She was never talented, she was just the chick of the moment back in 2004/5 and now her moment is up. She doesn’t have the talent to have longevity. She reminds me of ashanti, when she first came out everyone loved her, then has her career furthered people began to realise how whack and lame she was as an artist… the same goes for Rihanna.

Anthony Medler can try to make her video look as edgy as he wants, her team can even believe that they can rival Lady Gaga with her styling ‘Edge’ factor etc etc. But you cannot teach a dog old tricks and yes indeed Rihanna is a OLD DOG!

She has no star appeal and she is a puppet! Least with Lady Gaga you can see that she has a passion for music and Performing, she puts in the work and the creativity and she gets the results. People cannot deny how genius Gaga is with her craft.

Love love LOVE the video! I was able to see the video before it was pulled and all i can say is WOW!!!! I was sitting on the edge of my seat like I was watching some block bluster movie and the most pivatol part was about to happen. You know it’s coming but you can’t turn away because you are afraid you are going to miss something. She did good with this video and I am sure it will get people to talking.

I literally screamed out loud when the male lead in the video spun the chamber on the gun thus beginning the actual game of Russian Roulette. The fear and uncertianty was shown and it made the scene all the more haunting. I think my favorite scenes of the video is when she is in the gas chamber and damn near daring them to release the gases on her. The car scene and water scenes spoke volumes as well.

The entire video was a metaphor and showed the various test she was put through and yet she survived them all. I think I screamed again at the end of the video when the shot rang out and Rihanna was the one who won the game. No matter what she was faced with she emerged as the victor and I loved it!

Can’t wait for Rihanna and her era of Rated R. I think with the video and songs on the cd we will see growth and a different kind of Rihanna and that is a good thing. The true mark of a good artist is being able to grow and show that growth in your music, videos, and most importantly self.

I liked the video, I see where Def Jams budget went, because this was very theatrical.
I do agree to some extent that the message was not to cohesive, I think in an attempt to be “subtle” it became over-styled and convoluted.
But its a dramatic song, that needed a dramatic video. I think RIhanna accomplished that overall so kudos to her! I wonder if her other videos will live up to this one. Especially since she’s releasing dual singles.

Wow the Rihanna haters have nothing else to do with their life which is sad. The video is Great! It is not boring and so direct like video’s out today. It is creative and out the box which represents a true artist. The people who are saying she has no talent are people that have no talent so they would not be able to tell talent. Someone has said she won’t have longevity but she is still here despite all the haters and will be here for a long time. She takes chances and doesn’t do the same boring expected music like a certain someone who the haters are always bringing up. With all said, Rihanna is here to stay and the numbers will prove all the haters wrong.

I just read through every comment and Beysus Christ is something else. How can you even be taken serious with that name. Let me just start off by saying that I am a Rihanna fan. I became one after her last record. Which goes to show that I’m not a “stan” because I only followed her music once it became interesting to me. But not though it should matter if I’m a fan. It seems everyones logic is you can only be a fan of one female artist. We don’t do the same with male artist… think about it?

But to the video I loved it so much I purchased it on iTunes and pre-ordered the record, which is a first. I usually prefer to go to the store and pick up a copy. But from the stuff I heard I’m confident I’ll love it. I think with this song she’s metaphorically speaking of the abuse she suffered from the hands of Chris Brown and showing how she survived it. I mean the girl is on top of her game. And this will be her first official record since reaching international super stardom.

But one thing I can’t stand is her name always going to be connected with Chris Brown? She is the bigger star of the two. Don’t believe me check the sales. Chris barely pass the sophomore slump and the abuse incident only did more for keeping his name relevant.

The video is beautiful. I was on the fence about the song, but the video really brings it home. I like it more now than ever. And, although I’m not a fan of the sing rapping, “wait your turn” has grown on me as has “so hard,” but I liked “so hard” from jump.

I’m sooo glad there is another Rhianna post. I just want to come on today to call the broad a liar. In her 20/20 interview she clearly stated that she had to reconsider her decision to stay w/ Chris because of the negative way it could affect young girls. I would like to point out that Rihanna does something, every single day, to negatively affect young girls. Of course she’s not the only one - but she IS the one claiming to finally recognize her affect on young girls. I guess that’s why Friday on my way to work when I stopped at a convienence store for a coffee the first thing I saw on the newsstand was her with her big arse booted up in the air on a magazine cover thus setting the perfect example for young women the world over. Fan or not clearly Rihanna is no role model. Not a fan of the song, I find myself turning it off midway through, not because of the lyrics (Ne-yo did his thing) but because of her voice (it’s not the best for ballads, IMO) but I do think this video is great artistically… Go Riri….

The Russian Roulette theme is important in terms of programming as it is a mechanism used in suicide programming; which ties into the general aspect of this (and the overarching theme of the video) with Rihanna risking her life, willing to die for her “boyfriend”/handler. If we are using the whole Chris Brown domestic abuse example as a reference here; Russian roulette probably symbolizes the mental state of women who stay in abusive relationships (which is very much associated with and quite similar to mind control programming; it’s obviously difficult for some people to comprehend but ‘mind control’ extends to simple manipulation of a partner through verbal abuse as well as the extreme end of the scale in trauma-based mind control programming). In the room she is playing Russian roulette with her boyfriend (this another symbolic dissociative hallucination/dream scene, shown by how the video cuts from her in a dissociative state in the cell and the Russian roulette room) also note the spinning fan/air vent, which I believe is conscious symbolism if you take into account the revolver used in Russian roulette where you spin the chamber to play the game (more spinning/dissociation suggestions and confusion having no idea which exact chamber the bullet is in) before causing severe head trauma if it goes off.

There are her shadowy tormentors, who keep her locked away and subject her to all sorts of torture including gassing her with red smoke and setting a cat on her [kitten dehumanization programming is another common theme in this video]. There are scenes of her twisting and pawing in a padded cell. At one point, she is mowed down by a speeding car.

Then we are shown her tattooed/branded hand over a small blood pool. It symbolically shows scratch/claw marks on one of the square panels of the wall (grid pattern symbolizes the mind split into compartments; grids are used by programmers to ‘chart’ the victim’s alters/programs/triggers/codes/etc); suggesting dehumanization and traumatization (like someone locked in a room attempting to scratch at the door in vein, or having gone insane and are attempting to scratch there way through the wall which seems to be the case here), the camera moves from the scratch marks to the prison guard/handler showing they have caused by his abuse/programming of Rihanna.

The slave handlers dressed in black (who are made to look like programmed individuals themselves, which is often how it works in reality with programmers being victims themselves due to the multigenerational aspect of Monarch mind control) with Rihanna looking in the two-way mirror of her ‘padded’/programming cell.

Fire is shown subliminally symbolizing the primal/primitive aspect of all this programming (to the reptilian brain [most primitive part of the brain] sex and violence are essentially the same) involving a lot of sex, violence and dominance (which is also associated with the reptilian brain; the primal need to stay alive, to attain and keep hold of territory [which you could argue includes women, in order to keep their family going]).

Note as the gas is released (red again symbolizing fire, primal symbolism) her hood covers her face, showing her to be faceless; which is more mind control symbolism of ‘facelessness’, loss of identity/sense of self/personality in programming (more horrific than it sounds).
