After freeing himself from The Inc., Lloyd is still keeping it moving. After the release of his last studio album, 2008′s Lessons In Love, we learned that is set to release an independent EP project this December.
When asked about the project, here’s what Lloyd had to say:
“Some of the music is a lot more personal than in the past. It’s about my life. I wanted to tell my own story instead of letting others define who I am.”
The EP, currently titled Like Me: The Young Goldie EP will contain his latest single, “Pusha,” featuring Lil’ Wayne, as well as 6 additional tracks, with collaborations from J. Holiday and Nicki Minaj, Bun B., Juelz Santana, Rich Boy, Drake and more.

I like his ‘Like Me” song, but not this. It was a little sexual for me. I liked Nicki’s flow, but there’s nothing new about her. Her lyrics are your typical female rapper, “I can take it off put it in your face….”

I heard the song a while ago without the man singing through it..and with a different kind of beat..I liked it more like that..Anyways, really something to play in the car while driving in the dark
..Lloyd’s vocals never dissapoint me..his voice..pff i could listen to it all dayyy..haha why does nicky sound like a man during her part but afterwards sings a little bit..which btw sounds much better..anyway LLOYD is a great singer..he actually doesn’t need all those other collabo’s..haha maybe only weezy..them 2 make great music..

This is not my favorite lloyd’ song but it’s a good song,i’m from french west indies and don’t get all the lyrics so i can’t tell anything about that (other comments makes me think that it’s a hot hot hot song : and if that true it’s a good thing , in my head:hot lyrics+lloyd sweet voice = hot song) but the flow is really ok.I love nicki minaj , and even if i think that she do her nikki minaj thing with nothing new, i love her part as usual. lloyd is great…i feel like alot of (,just about all) the artists that are featured in his songs don’t bring anything on his records…i’m not sure if he feels more comfortable with features but his best music is solo…’a night off’ with drake was amazing…lil wayne did okay on ‘you’…and the-dream did good on their record, but i can’t think of any others…he’s a good guy…but less features would be perfect for him

Im really loving what Lloyd is doing now compared to when he was with the Inc. He sound so much or real and gritty but its sounding more like lloyd the person instead of lloyd the product, I think he is more in tune with his fans and the streets therefore he can deliver quality music better than an artist with a label because he in that independent/gring mode and I hope he keep it comin cause Pusha, Bedrock & Take It Off are all hits and you know the true fans goin stay right behind you. - I understand that your trying to go for a different sound but I don’t like this sound for you or any R&B singer for that matter. I personally don’t think that if this was to be on your album that it would be easy to go from this to a soft tempo song. However, if this is where you want to go I support you all the way I love your music
This song is HOT! Lloyd really did his thing on here. Everything he has done since leaving Irv Gotti wack ass has been really good. He always had good material, but now it has a certain swagger to it. Can`t wait to hear the Like Me EP & his upcoming album.

I like the song and the whole idea of being fully able to express who you really are. Bad boys are good Lloyd, as long as they know when to be bad and when to be good. It’s all about timing.
