On Monday, the Supreme Court refused to block the upcoming execution of convicted sniper John Allen Muhammad, 48. The Court did not issue a statement on why it refused to consider his appeal.
Muhammad was declared dead at 9:11pm EST on Tuesday for his role as mastermind of a three-week spree of killings in October 2002 in Maryland, Virginia and Washington.
“There were no complications; Mr. Mohammad was asked if he wished to make a last statement,” Traylor told reporters outside the the Greenville Correctional Center. “He did not acknowledge this or make a last statement whatsoever.” [ read more ]
His teenage accomplice, Lee Boyd Malvo (who is now 24) is currently serving life in prison.

Is it irony that he dies at “9:11″. I mean he wasn’t exactly opposed of it, he was actually ALL for it. Maybe many other Muslims will look at him as a hero, including Nidal Malik Hasan. I’m not sure how I feel about them killing him, I don’t know about fighting fire with fire. The families still won’t feel at ease. I mean the can’t undo his TERRIBLE crimes. He was put to death less than 10 years after his conviction. Usually people are on death row for much longer than this before they are finally executed. Virginina wasted no time in carrying this out. Unless he didn’t file any appeals at all then maybe that speeds up the process. He did, however, have one last plea for a stay of the execution, so who knows. Just a short period of time spent on death row.

I don’t support the death penalty any longer. I don’t don’t what the families got out of this…the man never acknowledged he was wrong, never acknowledged the families pain, and never apologized. The man seemed like he was ready to die anyway and he went out peacefully. A better punishment would be life in prison..being locked up 23 hours a day with people dictating your life is real punishment.

Three meals a day, phone calls, TV access, computer access, mail, visitors, educational training, group meetings, recreational time, church service… etc. etc.
Thats not punishment at all! Prisioners learn to adapt to their enviornment because they understand this is where they will be for life. The daily routine in prison becomes the norm & is not seen as punishment.
I’ve always said since I was little, why don’t they just put them on an island and leave their asses there!

That’s why you have a high suicide rate among prisoners who are lifers, that’s why you have a high rate of them trying to escape. It is punishment for them.

Oh, he did die quick compared to some white murderers, the white racist dude,Mikail Markhasev, that killed Bill Cosby`s son , and then laughed and bragged to his friends that he kiled a nigga , did`nt even get the death penalty. And their are many other white killers who have killed people years before Muhammad came on the scene who still have not been subjected to the death penalty. And if some of Muhammad`s victims had not been southern whites he would not have gotten the death penalty.Even President Obama has said that the Justice System is quick to give out the Death Penalty to blacks and slow to give it to whites.

Life in prison is a place where you are pretty much are treated like an animal for the rest of your life and that in my eyes is punishment…true they may get certain priveleges, but like someone said previously if it was a great place to be their would be no escapees are suicide going on in there…. Just like someone previously said…he might have been ready to die. That’s an easy way out in my opinion…let they asses sit and think about what they’ve done. Give them a chance to connect with God, because they need it…
Someone said that they need to die to go to hell…who’s to say that they aren’t going to heaven? In the 1987 U.S. Supreme Court case, McClesky vs. Kemp . Professor David Baldus and the federal government`s General Accounting Office proved and presentd evidence that race is a significant factor in determining who receives a death sentence. If you are black and you a kill white person ,which is what John Muhammad did ,you are 11 times more likely to receive the death penalty . But if you are white or black and you killed black people or if Muhammad had only just killed black people, the evidence shows that it is highly unlikely that you would get a death penalty, 90% of all death row inmates are there because they killed whites.

The minute that John Muhammad was arrested and the police searched his belongings and found out that he was anti-white and that he had wrote that he was trying to kill 6 white people a day, he was dead. Then he really put the nails in his coffin ,when he killed and wounded some southern white people in Virginia, the system did not put him to death because they cared about the blacks who lost a family member that was killed by Muhammad, Virginia, which is a southern state put Muhammad to death to carry out justice for all the southern whites that he gunned down or wounded in the state of Virginia.

The state of Virgnia executed him for killing and wounding some white people in their state.

I get my “theories” from the Most High. He gives me the insight and the ability to see things, and also the ability to research and find things. Wow that 7 years flew by so fast. This was an unfortunate tragedy and it was sad that all those people were ambushed by him the way they were. He had to pay in the way his victims paid and unfortunately that was with his life. I feel sad for the teenage boy who was with him back then because we all know we were 17 before and were very easily influenced at that time in our lives. I wonder if now he sits and think and wonders if he had to do it all over again would he. I to wonder though why does it take so long for others( most 10-20 years) yet it was like they rushed his execution as quickly as they could. I mean even Aillen Wournos told them and fought to get herself executed after killling all those men and yet they fought to keep her alive. We live in a strange world.
