Missing five-year-old Shaniya Davis was found dead Monday off a rural road, ending a week long search after her mother, Antoinette Nicole Davis (pictured above), reported that she had vanished from their mobile home in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Davis, 25, was “prostituting her child” according to authorities and has been charged with trafficking, felony child abuse, prostitution and filing a false police report (view video of her sentencing). Mario Andrette McNeill, 29, was charged with kidnapping Shaniya after surveillance footage from a Sanford hotel showed him carrying her there. McNeill reportedly admitted to taking Shaniya, but his attorney has said he’ll plead not guilty.
According to reports, Shaniya’s father, Bradley Lockhart, had raised his daughter for several years but decided last month to let her stay with her mother. “I should’ve never let her go over there,” he told The Associated Press on Saturday.
During an interview on CBS’s The Early Show, Lockhart said Davis had been working for at least six months, trying to get her life back on track and asked whether she could be a mother. “I felt that she was sincere in asking, and I figured to give her a chance,” he said.

After just seeing the movie “Precious”, (even though I know it’s a movie), this hurts. There are so many chidren named “Precious” girls and boys. But, the parents don’t think of them that way. I would DIE for my son and this monster allowed other monsters to use her daughter for their pleasure??? This is why I am glad the “Eye for an Eye” principle isn’t held as law b/c if I were a judge…This monster and any monster who touched this girl would get the SAME EXACT TREATMENT!!!

I am seriously all for the government initiating some type of mental evaluation for women who plan on having children. I wouldnt object to it if I want to have kids and would gladly take that evaluation. There also need to be a regulation on women who have a alcohol and drug problem PAST AND PRESENT and have then women wait 2-3 years before they can procreate again, and if they do get pregnant during that probation period that child will be adopted to a family that can better take care of it and dont have a dangerous or reckless past and can actually LOVE that child. People think children are always a blessing, and yes they can be, but when they are birth by women or cared for by men who are malicious and evil and would sacrifice their own child for drugs, money and sex, then that child SHOULDNT be brought in this world. I am totally pro-choice with abortion, but I am seriously thinkin the government needs to step in with more medical evaluations and mental health programs for sick ass women that be running around having kids and these poor kids live in world where they are abused and tortured. I don’t get how you can let someone hurt your child like this, how do you sleep at night knowing your baby is hurting, I’m in shock, so much emotions right now. We see people on drugs and doing all sort of crazy things, how much of this is to do with how they were raised, my god, I know that baby is in a better place.

When I saw that big,, grown ass man holding that child in that hotel waiting for the elevator, I knew it was all over for that poor little girl. Can you imagine what she must have gone through with that monster in that room? And that mother!!! She needs to be sterilized and locked up for the next 50 years!!! I live in Fayetteville NC and this hurts like hell, I’m a military wife of two children, and I was so emotional upset I couldn’t even tell my children they found the baby. Other than that I’m mad as hell people are coming out saying that their was signs that she was being mistreated and he gave her over to a other that lives on the Murk, for people not familiar with the area its a high crime drug place, a place I wouldn’t leave my dog let alone a child. Until recently did I begin to follow this story and unfortunately, this was the outcome! I am thankful to God for answering the possible prayers of some people….. I know you all may be saying to yourselves, ” wtf is she talking about?!” but I have to tell you this, I dunno what she would have become had she remained on this earth, in this life, being tortured by her own mother, these men, and this system who allowed such things to happen to her. The father, we may think that we know what involvement he had with her life, yet we really don’t have a clue as to what was truly was going on in his mind when he allowed her to go with her mother. I have a 5-yr old niece and her mother-my sister, who-although she doesn’t smoke or drink- sometimes I believe she may be someone who’d have a “cloudy” judgment of people (like her boyfriend’s family members) although I don’t know them too well, it’s that very fact and watching Nancy Grace, that makes me so skeptical of everyone around her and our little brother. I just can’t watch that show too much because I am so tired (from crying) of seeing the “unsuccessful” outcomes of these child abduction stories on Nancy Grace. Mane when I read about this story & when it was on the news I was praying they found this precious little girl. These fucking sick ass people in the world smh I could just think if it was my little girl or son I would be crushed to pieces inside. I’ve seen on the news the father praying surrounded by friends & family & my heart goes out to him. So much pain in his eyes it was hard to watch. I know he regrets that day he made that decision. I saw this on nancy grace tonight… man I wanted to cry….they got pictures of the man taking her out of the hotel she dont have any shoes or pants…. he had her up in his arms…. it looked so disgusting. its was another black woman they talked about who worked for social service who was so cracked out that her 1 year old daughter manage to leave the house and was walking around town with an ash tray in her hand 24 hours before someone found her… the ladys family members saw a photo of the child on television… they said they blame the mother (whose their cousin) she should brought the child to the familes home (the child was found alive)…. years ago they use to say you can telll a white crime from a black crime…. now its all the same…. a sensless crime

I cried over this beautiful little girl for days. She reminds me so much of my 3 year old daughter. Tabitha thank you for giving a little more detail on the story and situations. We dont even know for sure who murdered this baby. or how it happened. I want to know. at any point. did Shaniya contact her father in the 4 weeks she was with her “mother”?!?? Did he not know how she was living and what her “mother” was doing to her? or letting others do to her… How did he not have a clue to her problems. My daughter is 3 years old. She will let you know in half a second if anyone did anything she didn’t approve of. I’m still lost and confused.

There are many cases like this that occur every day. The black community has serious problems including child abuse, drug abuse, alcohol abuse and violence within our communities.
We have huge problems to work on! It is getting worse!!!
The movie, “Precious” reveals a lot of violence that occurs everyday.
when i heard about her being taken from her home, my heart dropped and then i found out that she was killed, i started to cry. babies don’t ask to be born, so when they are please love them and respect them and try your damndest to protect them from crazy people.

1) LIFE in prison (not the death penalty) because that wuld b letting her off easy
2) Every1 in jail shuld take turns whoopin her ass EVERYDAY she is in there.
3) they shuld cut all her fingers off so that she can’t use her hands to loop a rope to hang herself with so that she can be tortured.
4) She should be gang raped AT LEAST once a week
