After all that happened this year..her situation was set up so perfect for her to make a big follow up to the Good Girl Gone Bad era. So far I see this as an Epic Fail. Consumers want good music from artists with true talent and she is lacking. This album might not flop but just know Susan Boyle and possibly Lady Gaga are gonna serve that ass something nice. Def jam was too cocky with this project…sympathy only goes but so far. She is a very pretty girl and I wish her the best though : )

This is funny to me! So many people bash Rihanna for this and that but have you actually listened to her album. To be a artist you have to be able to grow and change. Who wants to her the same shit over and over again??? Clearly people are getting over Beyonce and these wack ass videos she has. If she would have came out with a nice pleasant album you would bash her for that too. You have to actually listen to the lyrics of her songs. They speak to you. Every song on the album has a underline meaning behind it.

And im tried of everyone being stuck on this Russian Roulette song. Its a damn song about love. That one song doesn’t depict the rest of the songs on the album. She has grown and developed in her music and that what makes this CD so good. I am proud of her and no matter if she is no. 1 or no. 40 on the charts she should be proud of the album she has produced, and no matter what her beauty and fashion is gonna make her a power house so just get over it already!

The CD isn’t crappy. Her stage show at the AMA’s might have been bad, but the album is quite good! And maybe Ri was giving that little girl the clean version of the album.

Ri’s music has evolved from the last album, exactly what you should expect from an artist. NY, LA Tiimes, Spin, Rolling Stone, the Guardian UK, all the critics that matter are giving nothing but props. The common theme among them all is that Rated R is the type of album that grows on you and that you can listen to straight through, which for the most part is right (give or take a few singles near the end)

Some of you are so petty. So what if she’s doing a discount promo on amazon for the first two days. It’s an aggressive tactic to market to amazon’s current customers who are more likely to buy Susan Boyle and Taylor Swift than Rihanna. Most of Ri’s target demo wouldn’t be buying her CD on amazon, anyway. They would download it off of itunes or shop it at a box retailer like Best Buy, Target, Wal-Mart, etc., where they wouldn’t have to pay for both the disc as well as for shipping and handling. Hence the discount for the actual cd and none for the downloadable singles on Amazon’s music server, all of which are being offered for the itunes price. Everyone and their mother released yesterday, Gaga, Shakira, Leona Lewis, Adam Lambert, Susan Boyle, Bey . . . doing a discount promo doesn’t mean that the disc isn’t good. Look at all the competition she has, and she’s still probably going to do respectable sales.

If Ri damn near goes gold by next week, then what? People are going to be coming out of woodwork talking about, “oh, it only sold because she was selling it for two days on amazon for $3.99 . . .” Grow up!

Ok I’m not a stan or anything, but I actually like the girl and I like her CD. First of all the little girl doesn’t have sickle cell anemia as stated in one of the previous comments, she has leukemia. Secondly, why does she have to be desperate because she just so happens to be at her album signing? Are you aware that a lot of artists do this? If it had been any other female artists there wouldn’t be so much backlash, but because it just so happens to be Rihanna it’s wrong. Thirdly, can you honestly get mad at her because the little girl wants the album. If there is something wrong or if the music is not suiting her audience, that needs to be taken up with the parents! The CD has an edited version. I’m sure everyone knows Soulja Boy’s “Crank Dat” was way more explicit than the material on this cd yet there’s so many videos of small children doing the dance. If you’re going to criticize one person you have to criticize everyone. As for her clothes… Miley Cyrus has been showing her cakes constantly lately and she’s only what 16? Rihanna is a grown woman and I know she is supposed to be a role model for the youth, but like I said before it’s a parents job to raise their children.

Oh lawd here we go with the “I miss the old Island Rihanna” crap again. She isn’t a teenager anymore. She’s a grown woman now. If you want innocent go pick up a Jonas Brothers CD. Let this woman do what she feels and make the music she wants to create. If you want the old Rihanna go buy the old Rihanna CD. Things change. Times change. People change. SMH @ simple people for wanting artists to release the same BS over and over again. You can download Rated-R for $3.99 as of yesterday and today, but after that it will be regular price. I don’t see why people are saying “oh it’s $3.99″. Research works wonders… Chrisette Michele’s CD was also $3.99 the first week and topped the charts. I am no way implying that Rihanna will be number 1, but it’s not bad that she’s probably going to land at #2 or #3. It’s still an accomplishment. It’s too early in the week to tell so people please stop the negativity and wanting to see her fail.
