I should say, I believe that he is her handler. She could very well be his. A handler is a person who has knowledge of certain phrases or words that will call up certain alter-egos within the psyche of a person who’s mind has been split. A good example of that is the movie “Manchurian Candidate”, particularly the Denzel Washington version. Meryl Streep’s character was a handler. She knew how to call up a certain personality within her son, played by Liev Schreiber, and Denzel’s character by using a certain phrase.
