She’s into David Bowie, glam rock. and performance art – all of which hinge on the absurd and are inemical to mainstrram pop aesthetics. Most pop stars performing today, despite their pathetic attempts to have an industry edge on the concept of “originality”, are painfully commonplace and mundane. It would be inconsequential if they didn’t try to hard to be interesting and talented despite their mediocrity. And you know exactly of whom I speak. To anyone who’s into glam rock or theatre, she really isn’t that weird. She’s just bringing some elements to a mainstrream audience.
