Alicia Keys performed onstage at NBC’s ‘Today’ at NBC Studios on Tuesday (November 24) in New York City. The singer performed her songs, “No One” (video link), “Empire State of Mind” (video link) and “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart” (video above).

LOL, this shows how your personal life can affect your fanbase. Before the whole affair scandal, all I ever read was praise for Alicia’s music. Suddenly, all of sudden, there’s a lot of “She could never really sing” “She’s boring.” Basically, all the negative feelings about the affair has subconciously affected people’s perception of her music lol. I love the new song..but never been a “fan” of alicia. I wonder how this album is gonna do……

I am getting sick of seeing the same ole people all of the time – Jay Z, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Rihanna …… talk about being shoved down people throats. There are other black artist on the planet that make way better music than these overrated folks that could have the same kind of success if the record companies and radio gave them the same kind of love and attention.
she’s definitely more talented than rihanna and more versatile! BUT her voice still isn’t the best. she strains a lot and though her voice is powerful, she doesn’t always hit the notes. idk.. i guess i liked the a keys that first came out in ’01. i think she’s just tryna blend in with the pop “talent” today. her style has even changed and there’s less piano playing goin on. smh… i will say i really like the melody of this song and she’s stunning. won’t be supporting her by buying the album though.
Ok…Alicia Keys is verrry talented. No arguments there. The new music? I do find it lackluster…the songs don’t give me that SOULFUL A. Keys 1st and 2nd album feel. The look? Eish…it’s never really been there, but I could look past it as long as the music hit. The music isn’t hitting. She’s absolutely beautiful…but her “look” isn’t doing anything for her.
I have yet to watch the video but she looks so pretty. Alicia is my idol.

I was a die hard Alicia Fan and since all the Aldultrey madness came out she went waaaaaay down in cool points with me. This shouldn’t be too much of a suprise that her fanbase has fizzled due to the news. It was aired! I can see if this was all speculation, but Alicia not even acknowledging the situation speaks volumes! Sometimes silence is not always the best policy. And tho it’s easier said than done to not let what she does in her personal life alter our perception of her as an artist..it has! She has married fans…fans who’ve been cheated on by their husbands..all kinds of fans and honestly we are the ppl who make them even matter!..the fans!..us! So yea she should catch the wrath. She’s gotta take responsibility for her actions. Yea Swizz was wrong no doubt, but lata for him, we’re talking about Alicia. The whole “Super Woman, Women Empowerment” persona that she embodied is now flawed. I think she needs to say something!

I think Alicia just needs a real vocal coach. She actually can sing, I know this because I’ve heard her sing live a few times before. But, over the years, I think she has not taken care of her voice very well. And this is why you get performances like the ones she’s been giving for the past 2 years. It’s really sad, because she has talent, but you can tell that her vocal chords are very weak.
Also, what’s up with those boots? Was she trying to make some of sort fashion statement by not zipping them up all the way or were they just too tight to zip up?

I saw A. Keys at Madison Square garden for her I AM tour. Believe me, ALICIA KEYS CAN SING. But maybe she had a cold for this taping, or maybe cause it’s early in the morning. Cause she doesn’t sound like her usual self. The “No One” performance sounded better (her voice) than “try sleeping with a broken heart.” Sometimes singers do have bad days. That doesn’t mean they can’t sing. Remember when NeYo started crying and walked off the stage at one of his concerts because he had lost his voice. It happens. Contrary to popular belief, they are just human.

I love alicia and have been a fan of hers since day one……i don’t think people should really post judgement of someone when they don’t know the whole truth…..everything that has come out to the public is just hearsay and if mashonda and swizz beats was having problems i’m sure they occured long before alicia came into the picture…..as far as the performances it sounded more like an audio problem or something dealing with the mic……alicia is pure talent and if you’re really a true fan then you’ll support her when she needs it most……we all have flaws or things that we’re not proud of but ours just won’t come out in the public eye because we don’t have the fame or status of a star…..
Let that situation go because Mashonda is kind of questionable to me since she is building her singing career off of a diss song about Alicia and Swizz. Things are never really what they seem. We’re on the outside looking in. Who are we to judge?
