Lol Jaden Smith Looks like Ja Ja Binx! He is one ugly kid, so skinny and long lookin…Seems like light skin is fast becoming the ‘standard’ Black and it kills me, because its not conveying a positive message to the world. There needs to be equal numbers of dark skin actors/singers gracing our screens as well as the light skin ones. Because it seems like the ‘Original’ black people (dark skin) are becoming extinct and thats what the enemy (white people) want.
BTW I WILL NOT be taking my children to watch this film.

I am always skeptical about remakes but the preview alone….it looks so inspiring.

Oh and Retro. Really? I think everyone else took the words out of my mouth. Yes we do live in a society that does hold features that a closer to Eurocentric on a higher level, but that doesnt give you license to deem the black individuals ugly because they have those features. He is a cute kid, light skin, puffy curly hair and all. And I have no problem admitted that with me having dark skin, and kinky hair and all!!!!

To be honest this trailer isn’t making me want to rush out and watch it, but I said from day one when I heard they were making a remake of this film with Jaden Smith that I’d go out and support it, so I will. I think it’ll be a great watch.

I might be the first on this blog to say this, but this looks UBER corny. I believe there is no doubt it will draw in numbers because it is Will Smith’s son. But this version doesn’t look as serious as the one from 83, looks like they are making a big joke out of it.

This movie looks so lame. I am also tired of these damn remakes! Directors/writers need to come up with something new. It’s funny because when someone does come up with an original or unique idea, other movies copy it…. example “The Ring.” Every horror movie after that had a ghost of a kid or a possessed child in it! I loved the Karate Kid with the girl, that one was inspiring and funny, but they should have just left it at that. Taraji P. Henson is too ghetto to be playing in a film like this. It’s good to see Will’s son trying to act though, but I want to see him in an original movie.

Racial stereotypes come from the media. When Hollywood saw how much money that the Rush Hour movies made, when they teamed up a black and Asian actor, Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan, they started to copy that same format with Karate Kid , by teaming up young Jaden with Jackie Chan. That`s how Hollywood works , when a movie like Rush Hour is financially successful they will copy that format to death, until eventually it becomes a racial stereotype and people start stereotyping and thinking that all asians know karate and all black people are clowns who can dance.

This trailer honestly made me wanna go out and see this movie. Jaden is too cute. & to me a remake is when they do the exact same movie over like cant buy me love and love don’t cost a thing. this is just using the same formula of the karate kid with a different plot and characters. ppl always gotta complain about something i don’t see none of ya’ll pickin up pens and writing scripts

Awww he is such a little cutie pie! I loved him ever since The Pursuit of Happyness. I for one am glad that they are at least using a little black kid in this part. They could have easily given this role to a little white boy. Why not just be proud for the little kid’s success? I think parents should take their kids to see it. At least they get to see a positive image of a little kid that looks like them. Come on people give me a break. I bet if it was a re-make with a little white kid you would all take your kids to see it with no problem at all. Why scrutinize it to death when it’s Jaden? My people are so backwards.
