The official cover of singer/songwriter Corinne Bailey Rae’s forthcoming sophomore album, The Sea (out on January 26th in the US and Feb. in the U.K.) was released this week. Recorded after the untimely death of her husband, musician Jason Rae, Corinne admitted that all the songs were inspired from her great loss.
She recently performed her lead single, “I’d Do It All Again” on the UK based show, Later Live, check it out below. Corrine is currently in NYC, where she is performing a couple intimate shows in support of the new album (photos below).

see this is the type of artist that you listen to and then when you hear “meaningful” music from others like alicia keys, you can’t help but laugh at them. corinne’s lyrics have always been beautiful and her slow songs are stunning as is she btw (she looks great even w/o makeup which is something that i can’t say for most of these females like riri- ppl who are marketed on fakeness). love her and excited for more of her stuff. sorry about what happened to her too. losing someone is emotionally one of the hardest things a person has to go through. i’ve been lucky enough not to have to go through that so i can’t imagine her pain. good luck to corinne. Yes she is a mixed chick…with talent and widow of a white male. I was not slamming Sade because she is a mixed chic. Truth be known all descendants of slaves here in the US are multiracial. I don’t have any ill feelings against interracial couples. Hell I wish more Black women would find love from all races.
What I am saying is….Sade could not sing. At a time when interracial love interest was seldom seen on the big screen and Black female beauty was defined as light skinned and good hair… it is my opinion this was the reason for her success.

I was just listening to her first album today and wondered when she’d return! I absolutely love her! Beautiful on the inside and out. Album cover is gorgeous..will be buying it, just like I did the first!
