MUSIC VIDEO: KID CUDI – PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS

Kid Cudi parties with friends (including Drake) in the Josh Hartnett-directed video for “Pursuit of Happiness” which features a striking visual effect of Cudi rapping in real-time while the world moves in slow motion.

His debut album, Man on the Moon: The End of Day, is in stores now.

@lovely but you can’t look at lyrics for something like b/c there are rappers who always talk about light skin chicks yet have gone for dark-skinned girls

Love his style. I can tell he’s gonna do big things.

I guess it’s due to the current state of music that stuff like this would be considered quality. It’s not creative, interesting, groundbreaking or inspiring, but it’s still better than 7/8 of the stuff that’s out. So, I guess it’s good as far as it goes…but it doesn’t go very far.

hahaha that ending is as real as it gets! That’s how I feel sometimes after a night of drinking.

i like cudi fresh approach, but the lack of sisters does raise a red flag. I Believe it is the label who chose to only show a couple of sistas. Because they dont respect out art.and culture, people please wake up. and support artist that represent you.

Really it is ok for Black Artists to not have their own culture reflected in their videos?

Wonder how Black Men would feel if Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Toni Braxton, Beyonce and Mary J Blige only featured WHITE MEN as their love interests, their objects of lust and their party companions and sprinkle in 3 black men?

And the sad thing about it is..Alicia and Mariah are 1/2 white and EVEN they are more loyal to BLACK MEN than BLACK MEN are loyal to BLACK WOMEN.

Kim K and Khloe were on Howard Stern and said NOT ONE POSITIVE thing about BLACK MEN while Howard Stern made comments like ghetto, big Privates and the only thing Kim K could come up with is that Black men like Big behinds?? So more evidence that Black men who date these women are not even considered to be anything more than a BUCK to the white women who “date” them and yet Kid Cudi is just being HIMSELF…with White women cause he can’t be himself with Black Women…the woman who supported him and was there by his side BEFORE THE MONEY and the FAME..but yet WHITE WOMEN are such an upgrade…. SMDH

@34. I totally agree w/ u…it’s not that they can’t find beautiful black women to feature in this video…they don’t want to. But, usually it isn’t the artist (except for in the case of gay-a$$ Diddy) that makes the decisions about the videos. It’s the label. They’re pushing the standard of beauty that ALL of entertainment does-nothing new there. It seems like a ploy to further wedge black men/women apart. And some of us are falling for it-when will Black men (and some women) learn NO ONE will love u like a Black women will.

*or a Black man, in the case of the women who step to interracial dating.

Cudi always has a look on his face as if he ponders whether the fame he has was worth his soul. It really doesn’t matter at this point because he’s finished. The shattered glass represents the shattering of his conscious mind, i.e. he is not in control of his body. He has been inhabited by another spirit. The same imagery is used in the Beyonce “Sweet Dreams” video and the Fabolous “Put It In The Bag” video.

    Wow.. Loved that video!
