Its funny how both Mariah and Rihanna are on their third single. One album is only a week old.
I really wish her record company had gone in a different direction with released singles…the CD is very good, but between releasing the wrong singles and Mariah getting in her own way dressing half naked and not GROWING UP, people are turned off and so the album flopped…this CD is VERY good, better than E=MC2 and the numbers are even worse than that one…it’s time for Mariah to readjust. If she does leave Def Jam, I hope she rethinks her entire approach, otherwise, her time is up. The video is just okay…so many OTHER songs worthy of a video….

Here’s the new video for Mimi’s H.A.T.E.U video, and I don’t understand why 50% of the shots are from the waist up after they spent so much time getting her into a sexy We Need A Miracle Suit. Was James Cameron too busy doing post-production of Avatar to lend his CGI skills to this video? Herm.
With all that being said, this video is pretty fucking hilarious. I know that when I’m feeling weepy, I slip into a bathing suit and play with my hair on the beach while screeching like a deaf whale. Why so sad Mimi? It’s like she just found out that Claim Jumper is discontinuing their Chocolate Motherlode Cake.
But my favorite part of the video is when Mimi is running along the beach like a Sanrio store just washed up on shore.

This needed a man, flashbacks to them being happy with an explanation of what went wrong, harsh weather, because it looks quite nice there, and the night time segment should’ve been longer. She shouldleave this album and move on, because her fans clearly have.
Like someone said, this is the transition period between mainstream and mature music. She can’t go back and forth- now is the time to choose. Is she stuck in the 90s, 00s or the future?

It’s not a simple case of her liking to show off her body. It’s that she looks a hot mess doing it as age is quickly catching up with her. It’s also compounded by the consensus that her music has taken a conspicuous nosedive in these desperate attempts to recapture her youth. It’s the same with J.Lo or any of these of other entertainers who are trying to strut their stuff like they’re fresh out of high school. They are obviously not evolving in a manner that suits their age, musically nor image-wise. Where Mariah is specifically concerned, and this is just my personal opinion, it’s not only that she is age-inappropriate but the substance of her style is rather unsophisticated and pedestrian. For a woman who has access to various resources, most of the time she dresses like the small-town harlot who’s got more johns than sense. Real “sexy” shouldn’t remind you of strip joints and dollar bills.

Just another recession video. This album is on a serious downslide, and the worst part about it is that it is actually a good album. “Candy Bling” should have been the next single instead. And I think it needs to be a rule for at least a year that artists can’t work with “The Dream.” Not that he isn’t talented, but he is popping up on everybody’s album, and his beat sounds recycled, and I’m TIRED of it. Not even Timbo would oversaturate himself like this. This whole year has been on a downslide for music promo, maybe it all has to do with June 25th, I guess the industry still needs time to recover.

I’m sorry but Mariah was dead wrong for letting this wackness get released. The video was really un-exciting no one wants to just look at her and the beach all day. They chopped out the whole second verse which is appalling. H.A.T.E.U. deserved a better video.

Mariah looked beautiful. It really doesn’t matter what anyone says…she’s laughing all the way to the bank and she’s still the biggest selling female artist in history. Everyone can hem and haw all they want it’s not going to change her success. Just like a Degree…no one can take it away. Sure someone can sell more than her, but she has still dominated the last 20 years AND that’s in music history forever. AND to put icing on the cake she had the biggest song for the entire 90′s with One Sweet Day AND now the 00′s with We Belong Together.
The video seems like something she has done already. Song isn’t bad but who cares about Auntie really?
