I am not a Akeys fan. I like a few of her old singles. I tried to listen to this album, but all her songs sound the same. You know the way she starts of try sleeping with a broken heart “even if I was a million miles away” all her songs sound like that and this one. I can’t lie though i’m ADD so that may have something to do with the way I feel about her music. This song is cool but I am falling asleep listening to it. I respect her as an artist but….

AK has such a beautiful strong voice, but i havent heard it lately. Its like she is either missing something or she is trying to change her image. I love the song, but the music isnt AK. She is one artist that could have kept her own style ( braids etc). Played the piano and extactly rock every song every performance with just her talent, because that chic has pain and passion behind her voice. And she has meaning behind her songs, unlike some artist. I love everything that she does, no matter what, I am just saying. The song was great!

This is the 1st AK album I did not buy during the 1st week. I was going to buy her album but I was hesitant and kept puttin it back on the shelf. Just not feeling the songs this time around. Im thinking its the same vibe from her last album, “As I Am”, which was a bit boring.

Compared to her past 3 releases, this album is WEAK. She has lost her r&b edge because this sounds like some pop crap that could have been given to Leona Lewis instead. There are only 2 or 3 songs worth listening to on this album… while As I Am had more songs on it that could have been released as singles like “Wreckless Love” and “That’s The Thing About Love”.
She is singing in that annoying nasal tone. It doesn’t even sound like her style… or Krucial’s production style for that matter. I thought he didn’t work on it because of the whole AK/Swizz scandal but he did surprisingly.

As for her current music, yes, it’s way more pop than her other work, but I like that she’s trying to switch it up. People always complain about her doing the same thing over and over again. So, now that she’s doing something different, people have a problem with that too.
Alicia is only one person, she can’t please everybody. While the genre and production isn’t anything groundbreaking, the lyrics are still heartfelt. Alicia really opened up and there’s a lot of emotion on this album. So, I think she did a good job. And as long as she stays true that what she wants to do, then it’s all good.

I was waiting for this to leak. It’s light and sweet. I’ll have to hear it again though. I think Alicia missed the number one spot because of the singles she chose. I think “Doesnt Mean Anything” fits in with the songs from her last album. TEOF was gr8 tho, I actually bought the real album in the store she’s one of the few people that I feel is worthy of having a hard copy. This album was very classic a few of the songs do give you the same vibe but they all have a great meaning and It’s hard to find music with substance nowadays. I was waiting for an album to fall in love with and she gave me that. Of all the albums I bought this year this one was the one I anticipated most. Her vocals used to be bomb and songs used to be more risky though Some of these songs are light but it’s a great album to listen to front to back. Love Alicia and hopefully better sales to her
