I still see that no one has showed me a witty, meaningful lyrical track that Nicki has put down. If there isn’t one, then her supporters seriously need to reconsider what they view as talent. The music is the most significant thing. If she can’t deliver, then how can we call her a great artist? Image is one thing but music is the epitome of an artist- it’s what makes you stand out. In this day and age, I don’t think lyrical content is as important. Now it’s more to do with your image and creativity however, I think this should be channelled into musical imagery and creativity. I think if you were an intelligent person, you’d be able to look beyond aesthetics, image or sex and really look and distinguish the musical ability. Yes Nicki has a unique lyrical flow but ask yourself this: do her lyrics match those standards?
It doesn’t matter on the amount of mixtapes, guest appearances, look, and ratings. Its all about the musical and lyrical content. Consider that. Just cause your on a hot beat doesn’t mean your music is excellent. You should have well put together lyrics to go with it which is why I think the phrase “Bubblegum” music came about with artists like Soulja boy, Nicki Minaj, Kid Sister Etc.
