According to reports, Chris Brown’s “Graffiti” will debut at around 100,000 next week, which will put him in the number three spot behind Susan Boyle and the soundtrack for FOX’s hit TV series, GLEE.
These numbers are down dramatically from the opening sales figure for his previous album, “Exclusive” (which opened with almost 300,000). This news doesn’t come as a surprise given the many months of negative media attention, but Brown says it’s down for other reasons.

LA RIed probably paid the stores not to stock because they dont want him to surpass Rihanna flop sales.

His comments are dumb. He is not that big of an artist for retail stores to blackball him. His sales expectations were projected at 180K before his CD was released and then changed to 90K two days after it was released…so he should be happy he surpassed his 90K expectation.

If the retail stores are not stocking the shelves then I feel they are making a choice for the consumers rather than let ppl decide if they are going 2 buy it. Someone mentioned on Twitter that she went to 1 store and the person had to ask a sales clerk who got a copy of the album from the stockroom. I wonder if this same practice was done when Tupac released his 1st album after his sexual assault conviction and jail time.
CB has been working on songs 4 Grafitti 4 the past 1 1/2 year (look @ old interviews where he mentions the albums title) and I can understand wanting to get his art out.

Well I didn’t buy it but I got it for free. I don’t think Chris has learned from this situation at all. So people are running all over the place trying to get the CD but the stores are not restocking them after they sold out on the shelves. Apparently right before Chris went off on twitter he was in the mall in B-More and he himself saw what they music store was doing…and this is from one of Chris’ dancers (ustream)…the store people said something about making a deal with the record label, they were saying it doesnt make sense what they were talking about…Jive shipped out 500,000 copies or something….so why are they not being restocked if there is a demand for them??
