According to reports, Chris Brown’s “Graffiti” will debut at around 100,000 next week, which will put him in the number three spot behind Susan Boyle and the soundtrack for FOX’s hit TV series, GLEE.
These numbers are down dramatically from the opening sales figure for his previous album, “Exclusive” (which opened with almost 300,000). This news doesn’t come as a surprise given the many months of negative media attention, but Brown says it’s down for other reasons.
Peep what he wrote on his twitter on Friday afternoon:
I’m tired of this shit. Major stores are blackballing my cd. Not stockin’ the shelves and lying to customers. What the fuck do I gotta do? WTF yeah I said it and I ain’t retracting shit. I’m not biting my tongue about shit else, the industry can kiss my ass. Thanx again to my real fans. You don’t go unnoticed, love yall. For the young fans..honestly, sorry for all the cursing.
Chris needs to go on a break indefinitely just like Tiger. Chris has lost the endorsements that could’ve put quite a bit of money in his pockets (i.e. Got milk campaign, Wrigley’s gum) Now his cd only hit around 95,000. Smh.
Chris can sit there and smile for the cameras and say he’s remorseful and a changed man all day long. He may be able to fool the public but he can’t fool God. He sees everything in your heart and until you are serious about getting right with him then nothing will go your way. Chris just doesn’t seem to be a humble person. Right after the incident he was on a jetski, then he was on the internet bowling with bow wow making stupid comments, then he was partying with random chicks left and right, hanging out at sporting events, then he did numerous interviews. That’s why I don’t think he is genuinely sorry for anything other than the impact it is having on his career. He and his friends have been cyber attacking Rihanna for months now. He thought it was all good when she was being victimized again. Now he looks like the idiot all over again. I love how Rihanna is just moving right along as if this boy never existed.

I saw the CD at all the stores I went to this weekend to christmas shop. I didn’t buy it for my son for christmas because I couldn’t bring myself to (long story). I didn’t buy Rihanna’s either. I still wish them both luck!

These stores don’t know if the cd will sell, so it doesn’t make sense to over order. The same goes for Melanie Fiona. Her album isn’t in that many stores, and it’s not b/c it’s selling millions. It’s just that the stores are being precautious.
Besides Chris wrongly accusing people of boycotting him, where else do you see the outcry? If anything, all of the major black bloggers are pimping the hell out of him and his cd. So he can never say that his core audience didn’t’ have access to his work. And everyone knows how to purchase his cd, if they really wanted to.
The problem is that Chris is a typical abuser, pure and simple. They abuse for power and control, and when they get caught they always apologize just so everyone else can shut the hell up and they can forget about it. I seriously doubt Chris is really sorry, he is just mad that some people just “aren’t getting over it” quick enough for him. Because he wants to continue living the high life. Which shows this boy is young, immature and clueless because some people may never forget or forgive and he is going to have to deal with that, since he was the one that beat someone up. I think those stores was paid off by some body to do that. & its just not right. Chris is young and he still has plenty of time to learn from his mistakes, change to become a better man. I wouldn’t be surprise if this is true. I’ve heard about artists getting blackballed in the past for a variety of reasons. And really I wouldn’t always trust number sales. They aren’t always the most accurate. What he does in his personal life should not be reflected in his professional career because if that was the case then most, if not all, top executives should be fired right now. So I can understand his anger. Now whether he should’ve posted it on twitter…well that’s another story. He’s a youngin. He’ll learn.
