I still love Lauryn. And she did release one of the best albums of all time after The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. It was a MTV unplugged one. Kanye West even sampled one of the songs off that album “when it all it all falls down”
Man, I miss her so much! She is truly a talented singer and entertainer.. I keep praying that she will come back and shut the current riff raff down!!

Lost all respect for Lauryn even though she put out one of the greatest albums ever. She’s a walking contradiction to all she used to preach in interviews and her songs about women – how they should act and carry themselves.

@realtalk for your information the Raggamuffin festival is raising money for Haiti. Also, they show a video of Wyclef during the show talking about Haiti and asking for donations. Wyclef was suppose to be at this festival himself. You don’t know what Lauryn has done in regards to Haiti. If you remember she was talking about Haiti’s plight long before the world was shocked into caring.

The miseducation is one of my faviorite albums of all time. Lauryn please come back we need good music. First female artist to win 5 grammys in one night and the first and only artist to be nominated for 11 grammys. Love you Lauryn!!!!!!

For the lame “Real Talk”, you should be quite. Real Talk. Because you have no clue what Lauryn is doing for Haiti. Just because she didn’t make a statement about how much money she is donating for the world so people could clap for her doesn’t mean she isn’t doing it. Lauryn has been known to give millions of dollars in charity on the low for years. Both Wyclef and Pras said that Lauryn constantly gives to charity but does it without making announcements, because she wants to do it SELFLESSLY. The celebrities who make announcements about what they’re doing and giving are the ones who don’t care. They just want to look impressive to the public, they want people to see their good deeds. In the bible itself it says don’t go around making a show of your good works and your prayers. There are people who go in the temple and drop in lots of coins so the plate makes a lot of noise, so that everyone will praise them for their work. But there heart is empty. And then there is the woman who went to the temple and dropped in one coin that barely made any noise. But her heart was full because she gave all that she had. It’s not about making announcements and making statements. It’s about doing something.
And furthermore, for those of you who are uneducated about how this went down, originally Wyclef Jean was supposed to be the headliner of the Raggamuffin tour. If some of you would EDUCATE yourselves before you get to tongue-wagging you wouldn’t get caught up in your own hypocrisy. WYCLEF was supposed to be the headliner. Lauryn Hill was only scheduled to make a BRIEF appearance on stage with Sly and Robbie. When the tragedy struck in Haiti, Wyclef pulled out of the concert all together. Lauryn then took his place as a star performer, assembled a full band, and agreed to do three shows instead of one. So while you’re talking about what Lauryn DIDN’T do for Haiti, the fact of the matter is Lauryn took Wyclef’s place in the concert so that Wyclef could drop out of the show and go work in Haiti. And we don’t know what more she will do when the tour is over. Instead of judging worry about what YOU’RE doing for Haiti. Because I hardly think Lauryn Hill is just sitting idly by. You don’t know her so you’re not in the room with her accountant to know what she’s allocated for Haiti.
Furthermore all this tired mouth-running about her personal/sexual life is pitiful. What does who she’s sleeping with have to do with her job as a musician. This is the problem with people. Instead of paying attention to musicians and celebrities for what it is they do, i.e. music, or movies, or entertainment…you’re too busy all in her personal life. What does who she’s sleeping with have to do with anything? What relevance does that have to her being on stage singing? It’s not even relevant. Did Lauryn Hill sleep with a married man. Probably. But what they got to do with her singing on stage. And what does that have to do with YOU. And Lauryn wasn’t even on her super-religious kick back in the day when she was with Wyclef and moved on to Rohan. She was on some female rapper stuff. Did she make mistakes. Sure. But she has moved on from that, and is raising her children, and is expressing a truth.
And while two or three of you are pointing the finger at her, what of your own transgressions. Oh I forgot, you’re so perfect. You’ve never sinned. You’ve never acted in hypocrisy. You’ve never gone against your own preachings. Bob Marley has a song called Hypocrites. You would do well to BLAST it. It’s amazing how sometimes people gather on blogs and call other people hypocrites, but when they click that X and log off, they’re living bigger hypocrisies than the person they’re talking about. You want to point out the speck in her eye, when you’re bout to hit the ground because your head is unbalanced from the log coming out your own eye.

I am happy that most people came on here and showed love. Because that’s what it really is all about. And at the end of the day, nobody can deny that what the music industry needs now is artists like Lauryn who have a spiritual and political message, and undeniable musical talent and an ability to make timeless, classic records. Bottom line. While these so-called artists who are out now are long forgotten, people will still be bumping Lauryn’s music. And that’s a testament to what she is.
Lauryn is cool. I’m just disgusted at how everyone was getting at Alicia and Fantasia, but Lauryn slept with a married Clef and a married Rohan. So don’t judge one and not the other.
