Actress/comedian Mo’Nique holds her ‘Best Supporting Actress’ plaque at the 35th Annual Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards on Saturday (January 16) in Century City, California. She also won ‘Best Supporting Actress’ at the 15th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards (pictured below) on Friday night in Hollywood.
Mo’nique is also nominated for a SAG and a Golden Globe (she won) for ‘Best Supporting Actress in a Film’ for her role in the critically acclaimed movie, Precious.

Who is Monique sleeping with to get these awards or nominations. Anyone could have played a bitter black woman who throws a tv down the stairs. Thank goodness she wore a long dress. She has a little sense.
Monique is complying and doing all the right things because she has her own “show” and now is being nominated left and right. If anyone should win an award it should be the main character, of all people. But the movie was terrible in every aspect: acting, plot, editing, direction, picture. It is so bad it is not up for best picture, cinematography or even best director.
Monique knows she was playing herself. If she wins against Julianne Moore, this was planned and a setup. Well she won already against her for the Critics Choice.

@ Backing Barack you are so right. I do not think it was really any superb acting in that movie by Monique. It did seem like she was just being herself. Have you ever watched her stand-up comedy before the weight loss? The main character did the best acting IMO since she has not been known to use such vulgar and at times incoherent language. As we all know, she was not famous before this movie. I can’t be mad at Monique. I am happy for her. I am just speaking my mind. Carry on.

All that I have to say is that I watched the awards and I am happy tha Mo’ won, But I also feel the Gabby should’ve won for her portrayal in the movie “Precious” over Meryl Streep and her portrayal in “Julie & Julia” that was rediculous…..there should’ve been a tie, if any, between Sandra Bullock and portrayal in “The Blind Side” and Gabby…..anyways, Mo’ again, you look amazing, you and your hubby….but lawd, he should’ve told you about those arms and that hair! Too much…lol…no, seriously

This goes to show the awards Mariah won was based purely on her being Mariah because she shouldn’t have even been considered for any supporting actress award. All she did was wash off her make-up. Not impressed.
