    This looks interesting!

  2. circa-1984

Interesting. I’m glad that they’re making more minority based films. However…couldn’t the film focus on an all black cast and not had a hispanic woman for the leading lady? I just don’t get why black films almost always include a hispanic as a leading lady? Why not have an all hispanic film and then a all black film?

  3. Nia

I laughed at the trailer so I’ll definitely watch this one.

  4. NewSacredCow

    cute, i <3 interacial relationships :)

  5. Toi

It seems like a funny film. I might watch it.

  6. Patrice

I might see it. It looks cute. @ Circa 1984 There are a lot of movies with all black cast and an all hispanic cast. What is wrong with mixing the races and ethnicities in a movie? People have to understand we are never going to get anywhere as the human race if we don’t learn to work together.

  7. JAZZY P

    Sounds interesting

  8. Jennifer M

    This looks really funny.

I see they are trying to take Lance Gross to the mainstream.

I wish George Lopez was the father instead of Carlos Mencia. George Lopez is hilarious.

  9. STILL STANDING MARCH 9TH 2010

    Yep looks good.

  10. Cory

Looks like a nice little comedy, might check it out.

  11. O.NE

sounds like the movie version of the play and book “plantanos and collard greens”

  12. Kyla

CIRCA-1984: I believe that’s the point .. focussing on an interacial relationship – the two families from different backgrounds trying to get along .. lol.

    Looks alright, I’ll watch it.

  13. JUDAH

Hmm, that was an interesting scene when Forrest Whitaker’s character claimed that there are many “African American traditions” that he wanted included in the wedding and the Mexican family put him on the spot. It’s clear that the screenwriter put that line in the movie as an inside joke that blacks don’t know their history because they’ve been cut off from it, and they now look at silly dances as actual “culture”. I also see a subliminal ode to the goat-god of lust and marriage, “Pan” (the Baphomet), where they have the goat ingest Viagra.

  14. GirlBye

Judah stfu with that damn anyway this movie looks funny

  15. Getem

    Interracial Love. I loves it!!!!!!!

  16. REAL TALK

This has a lot of potential for laughs because it is focusing on the cultural differences of blacks and hispanics and not the racial differences ,because racially speaking, blacks can be hispanic.

  17. JUDAH

I also find it interesting in these type of movies that the screenwriter feels that they’re doing “race relations” justice by including the line by the non-black party that they look at the black person and “don’t see black”, as if it’s a genetic flaw that they love the person enough to overlook lol.

  18. La Diva Sim

I laughed all the way through this trailer! Im definitely headed to the theaters opening weekend. As a black woman of hispanic background, its refreshing to see these two cultures clash in such a humorous tone. Films like this really need our support, so lets show it folks!

  19. K

i must admit – the little snippet where Charley Murphy was dancing and the guy falling off the ladder had me dying for some reason. cute movie.

  20. Fo0tFrEaK4LiFe

    Seems Generic and Repetitive!

  21. circa-1984

“race relations” justice by including the line by the non-black party that they look at the black person and “don’t see black”, as if it’s a genetic flaw that they love the person enough to overlook lol.

    —–Damn. That is kinda deep.

  22. morganstate

Lance Gross one fine chocolate man!!!

  23. mrs. sk8board p (ak & bk stan)

    it looks cute

  24. RedbonegotthatKillBill

Um…I’ll probably wait till I can Netflix it but it’s kinda cute, looks like it has some funny parts, but it’s been done before so…

Lance is just too yummy for his own good-goodness!

  25. RedbonegotthatKillBill

    As usual…good point Judah!

  26. Nyla

Looks like it will be a good comedy. @ Judah and Circa-1984 it is 2010, WE OFF THAT, JOIN US PLEASE

  27. Tiffanyj

I think that it would be a fun movie to see, I love comedys!

  28. L.A. Dre

@circa 1984 where the hell have you been these past 5-10 years there have been plenty of all Black movies or are you still stuck in 1984?!?! On another note this movie looks interesting, i’ll check it out when it comes out..

  29. JUDAH

    @NYLA

You’re off what? Join you where? Negro please. Black people are like hamsters on treadmills. They think they’re going somewhere because they do alot of running, and all they get are crumbs. Get out of here with that simple-minded buffoonery.

  30. pz

    @ judah,

i agree!! that is deep! wow…go head bwoy/girl! lol…but yeah this film looks like it coulda been better! shoulda used different actors! i’m not feeling the chemistry between all the random A listers! lol

  31. Ateya

    Cant wait to see this….

  32. Coffeebrown

@ JUDAH, I am not trying to be disrespectful or come at you but I have some questions for you:

Do you ever see anything positive in anything that Black people do? Are there ANY Black people that you respect/admire? Or are we all coons, sacrificial lambs, “hamsters on a treadmill” (to quote you)? Are ANY Black women worthy of accolades in your eyes? Why do you repeatedly come to this site to comment if most of the posts/comments disgust/anger you?

Can you give me some serious answers please? Thank you.

  33. Nyla

@Judah First of all, it’s people like you who try to prevent black people from making it. GROW THE HELL UP!!! Always trying to throw race and conspiracy theory into something. It’s the reason why we as black people continue to deal with struggles because dumb ass people like you always wanna live in the past and blame other people. LIKE I SAID IT’S 2010, find something else to do with your life.

Black people have done great things but people like you want to take some insignificant line in a movie or what some entertainer does and/or says and turn it into something negative. In your small world, every-damn-body is blasphemous or racist.

We get on this for the most part positive blog and everytime we go through the comments, there’s your ignorant ass saying the same stuff over and over again.

So you can stay a hamster running on your treadmill for all I care. For the rest of us African American people, let us continue to grow and prosper without all the negative “blame-other-people-for-our-problems” BS. I’m done.

  34. TOONS

Growing up in LA I experienced a lot of racism from mexicans. Never understood why they were so racist when they’re damn near at the bottom of the totem pole as well. Movie was interesting, seemed a little cliche’d.

JUDAH have you read “The Isis Papers” by Dr. Frances Cress Wesling? That was a deep book.

  35. wifematerial

LOL AT THE ELECTRIC SLIDE….THAT IS A BLACK TRADITION AT WEDDINGS. AND REGINA KING LOOKS CUTE WITH SHORT HAIR

  36. toni2real

looks like a good movie. and for all the back and forth about conspiracies and racism they do exists but in the name of entertainment we shall overlook them?? lol take what you see as what it is but know we as a people (since “we” seem to be the only ones to group ourselves together in a collective action) can always do better.

  37. Ta

I think it would have been funnier if they were german or italian instead of mexican or hispanic, this has been already and don’t be fooled, hispanics know alot about black culture they just don’t want to admit it. They dress like us talk like us so i’m really not interested in this farce. I would have rathered the whole family be black, the movie seems forced and boring, i don’t even really care for the cast (America Farrera, really!).

  38. Diamond Latrelle

THE MOVIE LOOKS LIKE IT WILL PRODUCE A FEW LAUGH, BUT i DON’T THINK THE MONEY SALES WILL RE-COOP IN THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT WAS PAID TO EACH ACTOR AND ACTRESS. iI;LL ALSO WAIT FOR IT TO HIT DVD.

  39. Diamond Latrelle

OOPS…I MEANT “I’LL WAIT FOR IT TO HIT DVD IN JUNE 2010″

  40. Monique

This movie looks pretty good, I’ll probably check it out!

  41. Yogi

Me likey. George Lopez would have been hilarious as the father though!

  42. slimqoodz

  43. sHaY

look…Idk. It looks aight…but DAMN spanish chicks don’t have a prop getting married to no damn body!!! Shit why are they makin this…they been marrying black for years..Something New was way more relevent…

  44. PEACE AT HEART

I’m with Judah, our people need to learn to think and anyalze instead of thinking crumbs taste like a home-made cake…

That’s right us African-Americans don’t know what true culture is b/c it was stripped from us and this movie is laughing at us with glee…

Want to learn about how GREAT of a people we were and are pick up AFRICAN AMERICAN FIRSTS -Famous, Little-KNowna nd Unsung Triumphs of Blacks in America by Joan Potter

It’s an enlightening book about us for us and YES President Obama is on the cover along with a few of our other greats….every black girl and boy should own a copy of this book !!!

ok so back this corny movie (yes I will see it on cable) I concur how there wasn’t any chemistry between anyone and true George Lopez should have played the father something about this guy I don’t like….

  45. PoohCandy

    Funny! I will support.

  46. Q*U*E*E*N

YAAAAAAAAAAY!!! I’M SO HAPPY BECAUSE I WAS AN EXTRA IN THIS MOVIE…. LOOK FOR THE CLUB SCENE… I’M THE GIRL IN THE BLUE DRESS!!! YOU’LL SEE…I GOT A LOT OF CAMERA TIME!!! WOOT WOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!

  47. Christina

I don’t like it. this has been done. I dont think that it is funny that the grandmother would faint when she meets the black boyfriend, really in 2010? this makes us look like we are all racist and that is not funny!!! I also wish they wouldn’t have been mexican. I wish it would have been a latino chick (and no mexican is not latino) latinos are from Latin America. anyway… blacks and mexicans, latinos have been hooking up for some time now and to AGAIN make fun of both cultures at our expense is not cute in 2010. I will not support this movie. I think that it is def a step back!!

  48. ardvank

I like this movie and I can’t wait to see it. Looks like a good movie!

  49. hey

@ Christina. Mexians are Latinos dumbass. Latino/a =a person of Latin-American or Spanish-speaking descent. Read a book biatch!

  50. Ain't I

    @Hey and Christina

To be Latino is to be of latin desent which is French, Spanish, Italian, and so on and so forth……the languages that these people speak are desendant of latin….smh…..enlighten yourselves.

  51. Princess_Amber

I can dig it, Judah. Very deep. The movie seems funny but I agree the plot has been done before and G. Lopez wouldve brought it a lil better.. and maybe they should’ve used a different race not heavily represented in America.

Might have only seemed that way b/c of the short trailor snippets, but I didnt like how Lance is trying to be accepted by the girls family as if he’s beneath them. Like i said, its been done before, so i wont be tripping over my feet to get to the theatre. lol

  52. Wow this looks good! @ 10 George Lopez was probably their first choice

And I love the manager that shot Jenifer Lopez in Selena! She needs to be in more movies lol

  53. PEACE AT HEART

exactly # 52, I’m tired of our people being displayed as if we need to be accepted by their behinds, I think NOT!!!!

Propaganda is alive and well, anything to show weakness in the AA Disapora plight is right up their alley, if one supports this movie means you concur with the message period…

this movie is a disgrace and our people should NEVER support such a mockery of our own NEVER, but again, too many of us thinks crumbs is like eating a home-made cake smh

p.s. even on cable I’ve changed my mind and won’t support this mess!!!

  54. Dubs

@#3 You must not have seen Precious.

  55. Nikki

INTERACIAL RELATIONSHIPS ARE AWESOME! This movie looks good! I will defintely be watching this! Although I do think George Lopez could have done better as the father – he is funnier but it does say Charlie Murphy is in the cast, they should have added Mike Epps and this would be a killer.
