MUSIC NEWS: T.I. TALKS NEW ALBUM / KELLY ROWLAND PREPS THIRD SOLO EFFORT / THE DREAM’S LOVE KING IS A GO

January 22nd, 2010

Literally less than a month after being released from prison and entering a half-way house, T.I. has already started talking about a new album.

After the release of 2008′s Paper Trail, which garnered multi-platinum success, Jim Jonsin, the producer responsible for T.I.’s #1 hit “Whatever You Like,” opened up to Rap-Up.com album the album:

“He’s back in the studio. I sent him some music via e-mail,” Jonsin reveals.

“He can work during the week and not on the weekend, I believe. He’s definitely working on an album for this year right now.”

There’s no concrete direction, release date or title for the album, but it sure to come out before the end of 2010.

KELLY ROWLAND PREPS THIRD SOLO EFFORT

Fresh of the heels of a hot new photoshoot with famed celebrity photographer, Derek Blanks, former Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland is already hard at work on her third studio album.

It seems like producer, Jim Jonsin is dropping all the hot details about upcoming albums, considering that he’s working with everyone this year! She’s been working with he and Rico Love, the duo responsible for Bey’s “Sweet Dreams.” They’ve completed four songs together.

“She’s doing a pop-house and R&B sound, like a mixture,” Jim says. “It’s really cool. Some uptempo stuff, some ballads, all around really nice — more like a Donna Summer sound.”

In addition to working with Rico and Jim, Kelly, who is said to be channeling Donna Summer this time around, will also reteam with famed DJ and producer, David Guetta (whom she made #1 magic with on the single, “When Love Takes Over”). She is also said to collaborate again with long-time friend, Nelly.

Rowland, who recently parted ways with Mathew Knowles, currently doesn’t have a label home, however she is in talks with a couple of labels, specifically, Universal Motown.

THE DREAM’S LOVE KING IS A GO

Although he had planned to release two albums last year, The Dream finally announces that he’s been diligently working, and he will release his third album, Love King this year.

The Dream, who claims that this is his best work yet, is also expected a baby girl next month with his new wife, singer Christina Milian, with whom he is also working on an album with, via Radio Killa Records/Interscope.

Love King will contain productions from friend and partner, Tricky Stewart, as well as Los Da Mystro, with he has created many hits and displayed a massive amount of chemistry with.

The album will drop some time May, according to his Twitter page.

—-This should be one hell of a year with these three devils dropping albums lol.
—-I don’t understand how an “artist” like Kelly Rowland can get a chance to make a
—-third flop album unless there are forces behind her. I guess that when Matthew
—-Knowles sold his daughters into the programming, he got a guranteed deal that
—-they would be pushed until they couldn’t be pushed any longer. The Dream’s
—-album title is another ode to Satan.

I wish Kelly would just give it up already. She’s never going to be a successful solo artist. Sorry, but it’s true.

I’m so ready for T.I. and Dream’s albums. T.I. came so hard last time and after what he’s been through, he’s only going to get better. And The Dream always brings the heat…I have both of his albums and they’re still on repeat in my car. What’s amazing to me is how great his music is and he isn’t the best singer!

Can’t wait! 2010 will be full of great music. Love The King(T.I.) His album will be fire as always. I will be supporting Kelly for sure. Hope she sticks to what she really feels and comes up with something fresh and new. Pop is a good arena for her. I look forward to what Dream has in store too. It’s going to be a great year!

I can’t wait for Kelly’s next album. I don’t know why, but I’m excited-maybe it’s because she’s parted ways with Matthew Knowles so we’ll get to hear the good stuff. Hopefully she doesn’t ask for somebody’s feedback before she puts the album out because it didn’t work out to well for her the last time she did that.

I appreciate Kelly’s attempt at solo fame, but her past efforts have gone mute. I am not convinced! I love Kelly and the Destiny’s Child chemistry, but I am not feeling her independent of the group. She’s still beautiful though and I have no ill feelings towards her. Wish she would do better, but she needs some new people on her team (writers, producers, etc.). As for T.I., he rarely disappoints so I am excited about his work. And the Dream is okay with me too. Not the strongest male singer in the game, but he still brings catchy material.

Kelly better NOT sign with Universal/Motown…who is managing her now? I’m sure she can get under the Sony umbrella somehow. Can’t wait to hear new T.I., the game needs him. The-Dream needs to stick with producing.

I feel that it was about god damn time for kelly to leave from matthew EVERYBODY KNOW that he only care about beyonce that’s why he used to treat the other members of destiny’s child like he did. Because i remember Farrah Franklin was like they lied and said she left because she was home sick…but real talk she didn’t want to be in the group no more because she felt like it was a just a lead singers and her back up singers…LMAO…. i hope t.i bring us with some new shit.

I love Kelly to death, Ive always been a fan… but the honest truth is that she lost her main fanbase a LOOOONG time ago when her 1st solo album came out. Her personal music interest is not urban, she likes alternative music and her albums reflect that. Her solo effort did not connect to the urban market & its sad to say but I feel thats where she dropped the ball. Nobody was really feeling the direction she went with.

Cant wait for Kelly, I can see her excelling this year. Hopefully she comes wit some hard singles at least she will have some fair promo having left Matthew. Smh. Kelly is actually very talented and its sad, She definitely holds her own on stage alone & she’s a real good dancer. The quality of her singin voice is incredible it’s bad people don’t give her a chance she’s a beast to be honest. maybe you will get to see this year. I jus hope this isnt a dance album cause I heard a few snippets and it sounded very techno. I hope she really puts it down wit some real singin on this album cause she didnt really use her voice on Ms. Kelly. Good Luck Im excited!!

Kelly is going in the right direction with the Donna Summeresque sound, Dance is where the money is. Let’s be honest, if Kelly plays her cards right, she will have a gay following, and everyone knows they love and worship their divas. But, Kelly should keep this album underwraps. Because, Beyonce will come out with dance tracks, the same week of Kell’s album release. I know their friends but I can’t see Bey’s record company not stirring the pot.

Don't Argue With Me It's JUST An Opinion

Kelly’s third solo “EFFORT” is very appropriately labeled as it is indeed an EFFORT. No surprise she doesn’t have a label, she’s garbage! Worthless without Destiny’s child. She wasn’t that good as a show co-host either. Maybe she should draw pictures or something. The entertainment biz isn’t for everyone.

I think all ya’ll hating kelly should go drink acid. Kelly is good and you all some addicted beyonce fans. Face it. Kelly will roll the drums this year and pple will move. I hate to hear pple who can’t sing or have an idea o it start saying crap. Heard kelly sing live and she is a powerhouse. Good luck to ya’ll singers though

I’m still tryna figure out why ppl call Kelly a flop when she’s the 2nd most successful DC member with sales of over a million of both her solo albums despite lack of promo not to mention she was the first to get a Grammy solo-wise and When Love Takes Over went to #1 in over 10 countries. Just because she didnt sell as much as Beyonce she’s a flop? She still has TWO platinum plus albums under her belt as a solo artist. And ever since she changed management she has been on the charts, working with new ppl, showing up everywhere, photo shoots, magazines, etc. And now she is nominated for 3 Grammy’s If that’s what you call being a flop sign me up then.

finally jareesha what i have been trying to figure out myself – how can you call her a flop with 4 million albums sold 3 millions singles sold 1 grammy win 3 more grammy noms with only 2 albums 1 european tour and only 2 REAL singles for the second album with poor promo and it still sold a million plus worldwide – really – a FLOP? a flop would be moving little to no units what so ever ie

ciara – fantasy ride (5 singles! (go girl , never ever , love sex magic , work (please at song name)), like a surgeon –majoorrrrr promo ( she was eveywhere) and still only 400,000 units WW! – flop even with the help of the most mainstream artist ever – justin timberlake —-

ie hate to say it but if kelly is a flop by her standards then

michelle williams 3 albums – 500,000 copies ww
omarion 4 albums 1.6 million sold ww
mario 4 albums 3.3 million ww
keyshia cole 3 albums 3.9 million ww

u get the point plus ms kelly only has 2 albums out at this time and she is just now finding a niche that is all her own so haters fall back on all the flop talk cuz ms kelly is hardly considered as such – a GRAMMY WINNING INTERNATIONAL SOLO STAR! HATERS FALL BIZZZACKKKK!!!

    HATERS

All the shit talkers of Beyonce and Mathew should already be feeling stupid.

Kelly parted ways with Mathew, was running around with 50, had a #1 thanks to David and now where is she?

She has a manager but where’s her label? She’s doing little moves but if it weren’t for this site and 1 other would we even know? She’s working on an album but is she paying out of pocket since she has no home? She’s now being accused of stealing clothes, where’s her stylist?

I truly wish her success but I’m really anxious for everyone to see it has nothing to do with Beyonce and Matty. Bey didn’t even perform at NRJ so Kelly could shine and you still didn’t hear anything about the performance (I didn’t) but I see Bey’s acceptance speech all over the net.

It is what it is folks.
