According to reports, legendary soul singer, Teddy Pendergrass passed away on Wednesday night in a Philadelphia hospital from a rare illness related to his paralysis condition at the age of 59.
The singer, known for his infamous “ladies-only” concerts — had hits such as “Turn Off The Lights”, “Come On Over To My Place” and “Close The Door”. He was paralyzed from the waist down by an auto accident back in 1982.
Although paralyzed, he still went on to perform at concerts and record new music until he officially retired from the music industry in 2006. He will be missed.

R.I.P. Teddy! You were an amazing artist! May God bless your soul! Thanks for still making some R&B still enjoyable!
R.I.P.
Oh Wow, so sad.
RIP
The legends of black sound is leaving us, this is so sad. When the legends leave, their music lives forever , always duplicated but never perfected. We are losing the true musicians , the geniuses, the ones that kept it alive, through their talent. With the baladeer leaving us, and the King leaving us, and the living legends being forced to sing garbage, we are left with imitators. What a sad day for black music legacy, the talent and creativity that was once in black music is no longer with us. And please donot say rap is music because it isn’t. Any person who knows music will tell you that.
RIP TEDDY, GOD BLESS UR SOUL!
oh i can see it now; god dispathced an angel when it was time for teddy to come on home…… and this angel walked right pass security, and the nurses and doctors, family and friends. and told teddy its time now……… and teddy opened up his eyes and “looked” for that wheelchair , and the angel said ,………….naw naw………. you don’t need that anyone, and teddy jumped out of that bed ……………. brand new…. no more pain no more suffering….. oh happy day…. knowing that teddy and that angel walked on home… and you know he was happy……. my favorite teddy tune was . a song that he sang to a woman who he let know …. while i haven’t been perfect he sang to the woman this song——- “ITS YOU THAT I LOVE”………. RIP MR. TEDDY PENDERGRASS

that’s really sad, a lot of greats are dyin’ these days. this just ain’t right.
We are loosing so many of our black entertainers and others that did great things. But we still have a few left. Now were stuck with Paul McCartney, Arrowsmith, Rolling Stones and others . Number 24 your comment was funny but true lol.
RIP Teddy “Teddy Bear” Pendergrass. My favorites are Come Go With Me, Turn Off the Lights, Love TKO, Wake Up, Do Me, Close the Door, When Somebody Loves You Back, and on and on and on and on…You will live on in eternity because of your music. I’m sure him, Isaac Hayes, Marvin Gaye, Barry White, and Luther are having some serious conversations right about now.
Terribly sad but this was my best friends uncle who was a woman beater, crack head, nasty individual. Dude used all his money on drugs and could no longer sing. He was still using in that wheelchair.
