Im glad to see chris back on stage. He did great.I love his dont hate haiti shirt.Even though haiti has gotten a lot of love from people they got hate too.People say we didnt help the katrina victims like this or like that dumb guy who said haiti made a deal with the devil.smh.I think thats what chris shirt is talking about and I like it.What happened with katrina should not have happened(them being left there) but that doesnt mean we should leave the people of haiti. We r suppose to do better and not make the same mistakes twice. So lets make sure what happened in katrina(them being left) doesnt happened to the people of haiti.

Chris is a hell of a performer and it’s always great to see him perform. Incredible.
Wyclef is great.
Not big on Monica, but the vocals were beautiful.
Loves Jason Ritter, Luda, Keri, Queen Latifah.
Distracted by Marley’s dreads…..wonder if there’s a Sampson effect….lol.
Justin Bieber is precious.
Pharrell looks like a 70’s throwback.
Mike Tyson…..
Robin Thicke is amazing.
LL Cool J…..OMG….I love watching him lick his lips. Wow!

Hope for Haiti! We gotta do our part!

thank-you to all the black men. the ones who are embracing the young man-child chris brown. continue to take this child under your wings until he lands back on solid ground…… its a long road to redemption. but when i look and see how the media is handling the charlie sheen saga. [hello insider] it is irritating. cause it seemed to me media was on a mission to destory [chris brown] this boy it seems…….. but w/ charlie sheen it seems like different strokes —- for different folk, if you know where iam going…… [sheen] who’s charges against him are just as bad. if not worse gets soft treatment by some tabloid TV shows.. so lets see how the wheels of justice turn in this case. see i speak cause i don’t have to be politcially correct….. i believe in telling the truth a.k.a. the real deal hollyfield…… w/o fear of blacklash.

VA STAND UP!!!

Saturday, February 6, 2010 /

I was forced to stay home due to the snow storm. I wasn’t expecting much, but the show was surprisingly really good!

Monica did the damn thing! She sounded great live! Can’t wait to cop that album!

Keri Hilson lacks stage presence! Her performances are always lack luster. Maybe she should just stay a writer!

I like Mary J and Jazzy Sullivan. Robin Thicke too. He is one sexy ass white man!

I loved the reaction Bill Clinton got! People really loved that man! He seems so warm and genuine! Like he’s there because he really cares, not just because it makes him look good. Gotta love Bill.

Pharrel used to be so cute, but now he is looking like a str8 up bum. WTF happened to him. SMH!

I see ya Trey with your cute self!

That lil Justin Bieber kid is cute, but he CANNOT sing and his ‘dancing’ is less than stellar! I really don’t see the hype around him. I guess because he is Usher’s lil protege, he is getting love on BET. I think he ‘cute factor’ is the only thing going for him. *shrugs*

CB by far was the best last night! IMO.I was so nervous for him and how he was going to be percieved by the audience! I almost cried when he came out! The crowd went crazy as soon as the music for ‘Crawl’ started playing! You can tell people really missed seeing him perform! His stage persence was amazing! You can’t deny that boys talent. All the haters can fall back and STFD cause he ain’t going nowhere! Wishing bad things on this dude is not going to work. He will continue to soar! 2010 is shaping up to be a really good year for him!

Luv the album Breezy and can’t wait for the mixtape next week! Keep douing it big Breezy VA Luvs Ya! Oh…and the movei in May!

37.

Ugh!

Saturday, February 6, 2010 /

@Dion-ish: Um…really? You know this how? Did you see his performance last night? There were a lot of screaming white folks in the crowd! There was an array of people and he got a great reception when he came out! He makes a variety of different music, he is not just R&b! Hell that JK wedding video came out after his DV incident, and it was white folks that were dancing to his song! That video was a huge hit and even put ‘Forever’ back on the top downloads on iTunes and Amazon. If people feel your music, they will listen!
When I went to his show in Avalon (LA) back in Dec. there was mostly white people there! Lots of screaming white girls and even some skated looking dudes! I am sure there iPods don’t consist of just r&b. It is the music that matters and he has already crossed over to mainstream. It may take him awile to get back to where he was, but he has already reached and audience outside of the r&b world. The telethon aired on MTV and VH! as well. So it reached an audience other than the BET crowd!

When he was in Milan a couple of weeks ago for Men’s Fashion Week, he was surrounded by a bunch of screaminf white folks! They even started singing ‘Take You Down’ and ‘With You’ on the street as he was coming from his hotel. Don’t believe me check the video on Youtube! There are plenty more as well, all of him getting embraced by mostly white fans! This was over in Italy, and I think it is safe to say that r&b is as poplular over there as it is in the states! Proof that he has reaced a broader audienceoutside of r&b.

The designers, such as Vivienne Westwood, John Paul Goultier, and John Richmnd. All white designers! He was even dressed by Vivienne Westwood for her show! Something tells me none of them probably have a CB album, but he was clearly embraced by them anyways! He even hosted a dinner party and all the guest were white designers! Obviously he reached an audience outside of the r&b and BET world!

I swear, people were so ready to say this dudes career is over! Then when they see proof that it is not they try to say he will only be embraced by the BET! When obviously by the crowd full of white folks he gets love!

They made a mockery of Haiti and their people. Not to say that CNN and white America did not but these blacks should know better. The whole thing was put together last minute. The camera man was shaky and zooming in so close to these “celebs” faces that you could see their pores, the “celebs” could not read the teleprompter correctly, they could not pronouce the names correctly, when the camera panned to something else and the celeb was done with her segment-you could still hear them talking on the mic. It was just a mess. They should be ashamed of themselves for still asking for money and saying give, give, give. That was so tacky and it was even tackier for some of their comments. Serena said that for once the Haitian people have earned her respect. Why do they need to earn from your butch manly behind? I thought Spike Lee was more intelligent that that but apparently he is not and showed his true colors. Why were these so called celebs posing and waving like school girls in the camera when they were on the telephone. The show was called Saving Ourselves, but why do theses celebs and Americans need saving? King Latifah got on my nerves when she was like Snoop wants your money, Diddy wants your money, Trey wants your money. But she told the truth because they will all pocket that money.

I’m tired of this Justin Beiber kid. I know his as.s must be loose. I don’t know whose is wider, his or Drake’s as much as they are pimping them out. All these losers who fell off are backing in glory because they are getting some shine due to a disaster. Lastly, Wyclef should be ashamed of himself. Haitians do not look like that. Those were wannabe rappers/African-Americans he brought out on stage. Wyclef tries to act African-American anyways so why am I not surprised. He has no talent. He can not rap or sing, so why do ppl care for this dude? I am sure he is happy to be the “face” of that country all of a sudden. Chris Brown’s shirt is distasteful and why is he in every photo looking high? This must be for his image to make it more positive. ::sigh:: I swear Robin Thicke wears that same suit every damn time we see him.

I wonder how long Damian Marley will grow his dreads. They are already dragging on the floor. My goodness.

Chris did great as usual. I was so proud of him. I think many of his haters are slowly but surely coming to the realazation that this Boys career is not over. So now there in a frenzy. LOL! I love it!

And For all those who may not understand the meaning of chris browns shirt. It is toward people who are saying negative things about haiti and the haitian people. Like Rush LimbBAG, Sean Hannity, ect.. And even some people who are blaming the haitian people for what happend like Pat roberson with dumb consipracy theories. So thats what the shirt means, to stop hating on haiti and to help and support the ones who are in need. Its very forward thinking of chris to wear it.

It is sad to see someone who supposedly supports Barack always leave such ignorant hate filled comments! Seek help. (not watch you respond with another rant) SMH!

@40: Chris was not the only one to wear that shirt! There were several other people who were wearing it backstage as well. If you look in the pics, the white guy Tyson Ritter was also wearing it. Chris didn’t design or come up with the slogan, he just wore the shirt.

@Jazz90: Thank you for explaing the meaning behind the shirt to these fools! There were people, mostly white, who were saying really negative things about Haiti. Like Pat Robertson simple ass who basically blamed the people of Haiti for what happened to them! Just because you may not get the meaning at first glance, that doesn’t mean it is negative. The shirt obviously means something! It means stop making negative comments about the people of Haiti and just help! Get a clue people! SMH!

Chris’s perfromance was really good. It’s almost like the warm welcome and the love helped him to relax and let go. It almost looked like he was on stage releasing all of that negative energy that he had been carrying since , he made that very wrong and serious decision. Sometimes love is what it takes for people to realize and embrace their errors, and love is what it takes to restore them.

@BackingObama

Despite the incoherence, I’m going to have to agree with his rant.

The show was a complete mess and noticeably unorganized. Every of these celebrities are just trying to make a quick buck out of a disaster…and its not just BET. Its all these so-called “fundraisers”. All of these celebrities could get together and eradicate the third world debt if they wanted.

This disaster is being capitalized upon and I’m interested into knowing where this money is actually going when all of it is done.

Haiti was never uttered out of any of these peoples mouths when corruption soiled that country. Baby Doc managed to successfully lock up a trust fund in Switzerland with Haiti’s money…Where were these stupid celebrities then? How do we know that Preval isn’t doing the same?

While efforts are being made for the country, these celebrities are making a mockery of the cause. Please keep helping Haiti, but make sure you send it to the right people.

67.

No Ma'am!

Sunday, February 7, 2010 /

@Dion-ish: You may not have mentioned ‘white’ people, but it was obvious who you were hinting at! You can see in the video of him performing that he was clearly embraced by the audience! There were lots of white people in the audience and during his performance of “With You’ they even cut to a group of white women who were up off their feet singing along to the music. The crowd loved him! He got one of the best responses of the night!

You may ‘think’ you are stating the obvious, but you are not! He has only released two singles off of his new album! ‘Transform Ya’ wasn’t really aimed at the pop crowd. It was more for urban radio. It debuted at No. 57 and peaked at 19 on the Billboard Hot 100 (thats the pop charts) and 11 on the Billboard r&b charts! It made top twenty on the charts and it really wasn’t a strong single to begin with! Given the fact that CB is mostly known for his performances, and he didn’t get to perform it on ANY nationalized TV shows like before, that is great! The only time he could perform it was on his Fan Appreciation Tours, that didn’t reach as broad an audience as it could if he had performed on TV like at the Haiti event! He is the type of artist that really needs to be out at Awards shows, morning shows and talk shows to promote himself! His performances are what really get people talking, and if he is no where to be seen, his songs don’t get to reach a broader audience! At least here in the states. But “Transform Ya’ actually charted better overseas than here in the states, like in Australia and New Zealand, which are obviously not heavily r&b influences countries!

‘Crawl’ is only the second single off of his current album ‘Graffiti’ and it is the only one that hasn’t performed well on the charts! But you can tell by the reaction of the crowd when the music started that they were familiar with the song!

He has 20 songs total on the deluxe version. As he releases more singles and hopefully gets to perform again, his sales will pick up! He has to get out there again! I have a feeling when his movie comes out in May he will start to getting back to perform again and make appearances at industry events!

Why do people love to knock you down when you are coming back up? Because they are sad people themselves and have nothing good to say about anyone. It was great to see Chris back in his element and the people missed him. He didnot have to get the audience on their feet they stood throughout his songs. As a matter of fact Chris Brown’s record “I Can Transform Ya” has been certified platinum. Why should he worry about being atop the pop chart when he had two singles to debut at the top of the billboard and stay for several weeks, “Run It and Kiss, Kiss”? He has only released three albums and two are platinum and the one titled “Chris Brown” is a double platinum. Graffiti will pick up once he hit the road. I will not even touch how many of his singles are platinum and double platinum. If Chris did not sing a note he has writing credits on so many artists songs and he is an actor so he will be ok. He not dependent on just his voice. Have you forgot he and his writing team wrote exGF “Distrubia” which maybe while some of you are posting negatively about him. You sad pitiful people can throw shade at Chris all you want but you can not stop pure talent. Chris is doing something with his life, how about you?

The performers for the BET Haiti special did not receive any fees for appearing on the show. All the performers were there to do some good whether the show was put together last week or a month ago. The purpose was to raise money and they did their part. Their songs are on Itunes and all monies from the downloads goes to Haiti.Did you contribute or did you pull that I gave at the office or I gave to my church? Yeah, I bet you did.

I agree completely with you! Don’t mind the haters. I myself am a Haitian and I felt offended. Wyclef is not a representation of me or my country. Haiti is still having aftershocks and more people are dying. They are focusing on the capital but there are other people outside the capital and their only chance to get food or supplies, they have to travel to the capital to get it. Unfortunately, the Haitians will never see the money.

Also, I agree with your point that Hollywood is just a bisexual/homosexual sect/club. All you out there who disagree are idiots and delusional.

The entire event was about raising money for YOU and your people to help you out in a situation that you obviously cannot get yourselves out of! How would you feel if we just sat back and watched ya’ll suffer and did nothing! It is a huge catastrophe and it will take time before yo start notciing the Do you think we can control aftershocks? Hell did we cause the damn earthquake! Us Americans are doing what we can to help you people and you are complaining about the presentation of the event! Are you effing kidding me!
Whether you like it or not, Wyclef is Haitian, so YES he is a representation of YOU and you people! He is trying to help your simple ass! If it wasn’t for him, many people wouldn’t know or care about raising money for Haiti.
While you sit here bitchin on a blog site, what the hell are you doing to help since you don’t think we are doing enough!

Tell me how this event will help Haiti? Yes, they are taking your money but how will it REALLY help Haiti? You sound so uneducated and ignorant. You must put all your hope in the government and idolize these celebrities you defend, hoping to be them when you grow up. Take your immature non-reading monkey to get your GED because you sound like you never passed the 6th grade. I rather these celebs sit back and do nothing because then they would not be profiting from it and making a mockery (esp Wyclef) of this whole disaster. We do not need a talent show or more publicity. What we need are genuine motivated leaders and actual help. From all the money (approx 1.2 billion) that were raised, the Haitian people have seen maybe 1 million where most of the supplies have not even made it to the people and are not distributed properly STILL. So tell me, where is the money going, since you are omnipresent and know/see everything.

Actually, I do believe the earthquake was man-made, since you asked. Research HAARP. But then again, I assume you never made it past the 8th grade so you would not know how to think outside the box or even think critically. Cuba and Russia also think the earthquake was man made too. But that is besides the point. The point is that it happened and people are in need as well as chaos that needs to be rectified.

Unfortunately, Wyclef is Haitian but he is NOT a representation of me or my people. That is like me saying feces is a representation of you because you are literally sh.it. However, that is not how things work. Wyclef if anything is a poor representation and does not deserve to be the “face” of Haiti. Haitians are intelligent, professional, well-dressed and mannered individuals who are educated and family-oriented. The man can not even speak proper Creole or English for that matter. Wyclef does not care about the Haiti or its people. They approached this fool to be President and temporary leader during this catastrophe and he laughed it off saying that the job did not pay him enough. If it was not for him, many people would not care about or donate to Haiti? You foul fool. People have been donating to Haiti prior to this earthquake through many different organizations other than Yele or Wyclef. Also, before you come at me, at least sound current or up to date. Have you heard of Randall Robinson? Oh damn, I keep forgetting how ignorant you are. He has done alot of work for the people of Haiti long before Wyclef with his organization. The only people you know are these African-American buffoons who love to entertain the white folk in hopes of getting paid. Oh, what faith you have in your idols.
