Actress Tasha Smith and guest arrive at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood for opening night of The Color Purple. Nominated for eleven Tony Awards, the musical is presented by Oprah Winfrey and stars Fantasia.

I was actually there that night. Fantasia was AMAZING!!!!!! She has really stepped her acting game up. I got teary eyed a few times she was so good. Latoya London played “Nettie”. It was nice to see her actually working. The woman who played Sophia was HILARIOUS!!!! if the show comes to your town go see it. Its worth the money!

Shanice makeup is terrible i wish people would take a picture of themselves after putting on there makeup so they can see how they will look on camera

I saw the show when it was here in NYC and yes Fantasia is AMAZING! I would def recommend everyone to see it.

@Millhouse, Fantasia is only doing the play for this month only. Her album drops in March/April, by then she’ll be done with the play/VH1 show and be ready to tour and promote her album.
I actually went to the show last night and Fantasia did NOT show up due to a “sore throat”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hasn’t she used this excuse already?????!!!!! Babygirl needs to grow up and play her part. People pay good hardearned money to see you perform, u could at least show ur appreciation and show up to your shows….NO MORE FLAKING.
