Fantasia appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show on Wednesday and performed her brand new single, “Even Angels”. The singer also sat down for an interview with Oprah and talked about the mishandling of her money and fame.
She hit rock bottom when she found out she couldn’t even afford a pizza. “The pizza lady says, ‘Well, the card declined,’” she says. “At that point I knew that I had been mishandled. Because there should have been no way that there wasn’t any pizza money.”
Fantasia says she then experienced a moment of truth. “I couldn’t go to anybody else in my home and ask them for anything because I had been doing everything.” [ READ MORE ]

In related news, Fantasia reprises her role in The Color Purple in Los Angeles from February 10 through February 28. As for her new album, it will be released sometime in Spring.

what I love about this chick is, she has amazing star power, quality in her vocals and she believes in this song. FANTASIA HAS OFFICALLY CROSSED OVER WITH THIS HIT. This is the American Idol days that made us Falll in love with this girl. Her vocal ability is amazing. She is sooooo versitile and she has the vocal ability to check all these females in the game today with the right management publicist and record she is well on her way from being undrated. I am so thankful for new beginnings and this is definitely one for Fantasia. People can be mean and cynical but at the end of the day WE ALL have fallen, been beat up by life down, made mistakes, etc. but its a wonderful story when you pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get back on this road called life.

I loved the performance, the look, the honesty and can appreciate what she’s gone through and how she’s turned things around. She has a new manager and he’s doing a fantastic job plus she’s working non-stop. Her show is very informative and shares the steps she takes to correct what wasn’t working anymore for her.

I absolutely love this woman! I still listen to her first CD. I’m not gonna lie..the 2nd one didn’t do it for me. It just wasn’t the Fantasia that I fell in love with. I can tell this next one will be!

Yayyy!!! A friend of mine and I were just listening to this song the other day and we were saying how we both thought this would be great single for her. it has a popular sound to it. But I had no idea that she was dropping a single anytime soon, I also thought she was pushing for that “Move On Me Baby” song. Fantasia has something most people in the industry lack…true talent and a great voice. Combine that with a beautifully written song, you have a hit. Its not all about image, people out here are still checking for true talent.

I just watched the performance and I sat in silence for a minute when she was done. Man, she really touched my heart. I have been a fan of Fantasia’s since Idol, tonight I am simply in awe. The song is beautiful and her vocals are on point. She looks absolutely stunning, really pretty.

There is something bout Fan-Tay-Tay (as I affectionately call her, lol) that is so endearing, she just seems like good people. I agree, the song is wonderful and she she owned it on Oprah.
It’s sad that her famiy doesn’t realize that she has to make a way for herself before she can truly help somebody else. If u only have 10 cent for most of your life and you finally get 10 dollars, you really have nothing if 11 people come asking for 1 dollar.

They do a lot of praying on her reality show and I know her mom wants peace in the family but I would really like the mom to seek God and ask Him whether or not its right for Teeny to treat Tasia like he does. I know he loves her but as a man, a future head of a household he should not be taking from her like he does. Mom and Grandmom need to sit him down and tell him the real and stop asking Tasia to just understand. If he decides he wants to run off and not speak to the family again well then that will just be his cross to bear.

I have both albums and after listening to “Even Angels” and a snippet of “Move on Me” I have no choice but to buy the third album.
Believe it or not, her second album was better than the first but the promotion and her weird behavior prevented people from supporting. “When I See You” went number 1 and the album went Gold with only 2 singles. So there is a fan base there! We love you Tasia.

Not feeling the song… Its a song that any singer could sing… I need my Tasia to give me a song that is AMAZING, and shows the vocals I have grown to love. I mean she doesn’t have to Scream and Yell, but give me something… This song simply didn’t grab me at all. I was hoping for a lot more.
I love the song. I do like Fantasia’s edgier side though, this look ages her a bit, but she’s appropriate for the interview she was doing with Oprah. I think she’s such a beautiful girl. I’m sure the choice of the first single was very strategic and I know that there’s much more to come in Spring when the CD is released. I’m sure her handlers wanted to reach back out to the fans that Fantasia had when she captured their hearts during the Idol days and this song could very well do that with correct and agressive promotion. She’s already started off with a bang by showcasing it on Oprah. I wish her nothing but luck and hope Teenay, Aunt Betty (who came with an overnight bag and is still there) and all of the other able body grown folks are out of her house but still in her life.
