So the highly-anticipated remake video for “We Are The World” (featuring a host of celebrities) was released on Friday and let’s just say it left a lot to be desired.
While I understand that they did it for a great cause (relief efforts for the people of Haiti), it just doesn’t seem as heartfelt or sincere as the original. What did you think of it?

Angel, I thought it was an amazing ensemble of stars. Exceptional singing. To me, it was heart felt, especially the actuals captions of the Haitain survivors. They are truly people of strong resiliance.I LOVE their spirit!!! May God bless them all!!

Well, it is not as bad as it could have been. Lets see, if you minus Justin Beiber, Miley Cirus, TPain, Wyclef, LL, and the rest of the garbage rap at the end, it would have been a lot better. Also, I kinda wanted to hear a little more of Janet’s voice in the chorus, seems like she was just whispering under MJ. Maybe they wanted to keep MJ’s part concrete I guess. Anyway, it is for a good cause, and it was nice to see a variety of music stars in the tribute, even the one’s whose careers are irrelevant.
What a shame… for such a worthy cause, more effort and more heart should have been put into it.
Some people sounded really good but when the auto tune came on I had to stop the video. And how dare they start the song with some dag on Justin Bieber…Original version all day.

I think its good with the exception of the vocoder use and justin beiber opening the song. Jhud held it down, so did Mary, Usher, everyone held it down except for the vocoder users. Kanye was good too. Why was a has been Pussycat doll given a solo while Anthony Hamilton and Gladys Knight is singing the chorus?
And forget about Bey, Rihanna, Jay Z they have already done other lackluster Haiti songs. Have people already forgotten the telethon album they did. Just face it the industry is lacking right now in creativity.

Just finished watching the Haiti version and the original. The original wins hands down…I had goose bumps watching the original. There was just more passion and star power. How do you start off such a monumental song with Justin Bieber? I think the Haiti version shows how bad the music industry has fallen since the 80′s. Back then people did not just sing they could saaaaaaanng, you could tell they sang with all they had. I am glad that the modern version was remade for a good cause though…can’t be mad at that!
