Sada is a good sport to do that skit with wierd Wanda. Sada and Whitney were on top of the world back in the 80s &90s. I’m glad they are both back from abuses and more focused. It’s frunny how Wanda pronounces her name “Shardae”. And, it was funny when Sada said, “he’s from Harlem”…does that make it a black history month thang? I liked the way she worked with that “mule”.

  2. V!(+0R!0U$

Sade is Like no other!! That skit was funny too. She still looks sooo damn good too. Ladies please take note on how to Keep it sexy when you get older.

Artists please take heed on how to stay true to music and especially one’s self. Sade has never changed her Artistry and music for anything….. not money nor fame and that’s how you make real passionate music worth listening to and buying.

  3. Domo

Her CD is pretty good. Very relaxing.

  4. T

    Meat…Sade was abused?

  5. MorganLady

This skit was cute even though Ellen did something similar to get George Clooney to come on her show. Anyways Sade looks amazing!! I hope I’m lucky to look that good when I’m 50 lol

  6. Kayla

I’m a young Shade fan. I loved this skit!!

  7. Ikeepsitreal

Wanda can’t even pronounce her name correctly. Its not “Sharday” its ” Sha-Day”..how ignorant and disrespectful she is to consider herself to be fan and cant even master her name.

  8. gymgirl

    @Meat:It’s Sade not Sada…

Wanda is NOT weird…. She’s holds her own.. Especially for a woman! Love the skit!! Too cute!

  9. mrs. sk8board p (ak & bk stan)

i don’t think she was hinting an album release, i think she was joking.

LOL @ the skit. Wanda is a fool. Sade is dope.

  10. Arkansas09

I love Sade 2 death!!! this was my 1st time hearing her talk. I only heard her sing.
@ #2 I used 2 think that her name was “shardae” 2 becuz I have 2 friends that spell their names just like her & they pronounce their name as “shardae”.

  11. Vicky

OMG! I can’t wait to watch this! I love me some Wanda.

  12. cherish

    I LOVE SADE
i had to buy 2 copies of her album one for car and house

  13. Meat

Not abused, I said abuses…as in substance abuse. And, Wanda is weird…okay, she’s just different. SADE!

  14. Hmm

    Love Sade! And Wanda.

Waits for Judah to judge Wanda.

  15. I know, mrs. sk8board p; I was just joking.

  16. wowzers O_O

I don’t think it was a hint just her being funny. I love her and her voice! Her cd is so soothing. I got excited when she started singing smooth operator I thought she was really going to stand there and sing it lol

  17. wowzers O_O

But then again the joke could be dead on seeing as how sade has said she does really like the spotlight for to long before she wants to go back to being normal. I love that she and the band has been performing so much I love every performance!

  18. Fashionble Cell Phone

Sade biggest fans, should suppport her!

  19. SUNLIGHT

Loved the skit. Sorry she didn’t sing on the actual show. But I’ll take Sade how I can get her. I hope she actually sings on Wand’s show soon.

  20. Meat

Is the word “theiving” used as a British slang for someone who burns CDs illegally?

  21. Meat

And, do the Brits call all horses: “p*ssy”? Sade called that hairy, matted mule a “p*ussy” before she hit it with the bridle?

  22. Harmony

Sade looks and sounds like a post-op tranny.

    Yeah I said it!

  23. KEM

She called the mule a “horsey” lol.. the accent..

  24. Meat

Thanks Kem. I thought she called it a “p*ssy”.

  25. onlyme

I love her music. I never really heard her speak either, but I have to agree with Harmony, she looks a little tranny and sounds like it too.

  26. Tk

Wow@ 24!! Eventhough i have all the respect and admiration in the world for Sade, her voice, and her music..let’s just say I never really got a good view of her while off stage, nor have never heard her with her speaking voice and …OMG!!! enough said!!

  27. Me Damnit!

@24:LMAO!!! She does got a deep ass voice for a chick!

Ok…why I am the only one who didn’t know Wanda Sykes had a show?? Where the hell have I been?!
Anywho, the skit was really funny! I don’t think I have every heard Sade speak or seen an interview with her, so this was nice to see her in a different way! She played off of Wandy well!
I’m not a huge Sade fan, I like some of her songs, but I am not feeling anything for her album this time around.

  28. HORSE.HEAD.NEBULA

Sade is the absolute greatest of all time. Ever. They are in a league of their own (the band) Sweetback is AWESOME.. their musical arrangements are Genius and Sade’s writing is so original and unique. They are from another planet….

  29. DREI

That’s messed up they mispronounced her name through 75% of the skit…it must happen a lot bc she (Sade) didn’t seem upset. She’s cool I like her (Sade).

  30. SayItLoud

    Dead . . . . Dead. Wanda had me rolling. S y k e. Luv Sade. Xoxo.

  31. SayItLoud

@ Meat. Meat, i think u hearing what u want 2 hear. Sade went from saying horsey to saying arse. Not from horsey to . . . . that p~word.

  32. AMBROSIAL

SADE IS ABSOLUTELY FAB and I am glad she displayed her sense of humor!! It’s rare to see her in this element. Yes her speaking voice is deeper than the average woman’s, but why does she have to be compared to a transgender person because of it?? Some of these comments kill me…SMH

  33. d.esco

I like how a Wanda Skye’s post is right after Ciara’s.

  34. SayItLoud

Oh wow! Some people having some difficulty with the name SADE saying SADAand all that. Well, try saying her full formal Nigerian Yoruba name FOLASADE ADU.

  35. TOONS

Im sorry, but the background is really reminding me of Precious for some odd reason.

  36. TOONS

    The CL background that is.

  37. peaceatheart

not surprised SADE did the skit with Wanda…they are astrologically compatiable…SADE is a capricorn (they ususally look older when younger and age gracefully when older) and Wanda is a piscean….a perfect combo….

I had Sade’s huge poster on my college wall at age 19 and I’m in my 40′s and I still have the poster, enough said…

go to Sade’s website and Sade with tell you how she didn’t want to be a singer, but God knew otherwise, thus why she’s been true to SELF, she’s followed God guidance and in the end it pays off, you don’t have to sell your soul to the devil…. like countless others…

I luved the skit, it was Sade as we’ve never seen her, werk it Wanda !!!!

  38. Sadehead

Her name is pronounced Shar-day. She just lets sha-day slide. But wanda is pronouncing it correctly.

  39. NoMoSoul

LMAO…”I have to do Jimmy Kimmel’s show and a little boy wants me to do a podcast with him…” funny stuff

Standing so tall with elegance and that deeply profound mystical African woman’s voice…Please tell me if I’m crazy for saying this, but Sade totally reminds me of Storm from the X-Men….just older and a lil bit more light-skinned lol…

  40. SUPERSTAR

SADE is saying – Go head 2 Baby & her SMOOTH Operator – wink!

    The DYNAMIC DUO

    A & E & Co

  41. katy2856

Who cares!!! My boyfriend thinks the same with me. He- is eight years older than me, lol. We met online at- Age min gl e @ c…o–m a nice and free site for Younger- Women and Older Men, or Older Women and Younger Men, to- interact with each other. Maybe you wanna check out or- tell your friends.

  42. JUDAH

If Sade was a young black American woman, she would almost unanimously be called a non-talented transexual, but because she’s African, she’s “regal” lol. People didn’t catch what she stated concerning black history month, concerning having someone in her camp “from Harlem”. Notice, she as an African, did not affiliate HERSELF with that commemoration.

  43. Bella Anais

That was too cute. @Judah she may not feel a direct connection with Black history domestically (in the US) however that does not mean that she does not feel a diasporic connection to other Black histories. I do not believe her comment should be taken as a reason to write her off.

  44. Meat

Ahhh but, when she told Wanda, “I love you too, but not that much”, she was making it clear that she didn’t want to be classified with Wandabian when she was on the ground with her legs spread in the air.

  45. backingbarack

    @ Judah

Stop! LMAO I was going to say the same thing. She seemed very much like a transsexual, everything about her. Just odd.

On another note, I do not find Wanda Syke’s funny at all. She sounds like a runaway slave: Sar-day? Why did she run up to Sade like a damn monkey? I wonder who gave her and Monique’s buffoon as.s their own show? With all that money, they both should get an education and a speech therapist along with improv/comic classes.

  46. trace

Their name is pronounced shar-day! look it up! Letterman pronounced it Shar-day as well. black people especially have a tendency to mis-pronounce peoples names. ex. people always say aaliyah’s name ugh-leeyah when it is aah-leeyah.

  47. Meat

Well, the O’Jays pronounced Sade as: “Say-dee”, don’t you know we love you, sweet Sade. Not Shar-day. She, Kanye, and Beyonce’ coming up here with all that accent on the e’ is just bad for American school children. :) When I’m down in the south, we say Say-dee…

  48. T.

the name Sade is actually pronounced sha-day as in yoruba there is an accent on the e giving it an ‘ay’ sound
in america there may be different ways of saying the name but sade (the singer) is a nigerian

  49. bbq

“See you in 2020″…ha that was genius
I hope she doesn’t make us wait another ten years for another album
    Love her!

  50. Confucius08

OMG! I have been listening to Sade since Smooth Operator and NEVER heard her speak!!!! She has a wonderful speaking voice. And yes, I almost passed out when she started singing.

She also aged great especially considering she aged NATURALLY. No botox or facelifts. Beautiful.

  51. Meat

    Thank you T.

So, Wanda was talking all out of the side of her mouth calling her Shar-day. Where does Wanda and Trace come up with that “r” sound? Don’t be Shar-dae for the party.

  52. lalalove

LOL. That was entertaining. I love that woman. Gosh, she’s such a good sport.

  53. imnotthatstoopid

I can see why she rarely speaks in public.

  54. MeeMee

Let me straighten this out now. Her name is is pronounced Sha-day. It’s Nigerian. On her first album cover, there is a phonetic spelling indicating it is pronounced Shar-day. Blame her record company for the error.

@BackingBarack- Not only is Wanda extremely funny, she’s also very intellingent, educated and politically astute. If you can’t see that or can’t get past her Virginia accent, what does that say about you? BTW, Barack Obama finds her quite funny.

  55. Meat

    57. MeeMee, Don’t forget this is the same Sade who made “horsey” sound like “p*ssy”. lol She has a strong accent and the people at Epic got it twisted too.

ACTUALLY Sade said in an interview in the 80’s that in the US people pronounce her name SHAR-DAY because her english accent makes it sound like an “r” is added. However she said its really pronounced “Sha-Deh” with an african accent. Also Epic added “pronounced ‘Shar-Day” so people would turn the s sound into an sh sound when saying her name. Maybe it would help to pronounce it like “Shah” of Iran.

“Shah-dae” But, it is definetly not “Shar-day”.

  56. Meat

Go back to the beginning of the skit and listen to the way Wanda’s parking attendent “PA Richie” pronounces “Sade” correctly.

  57. backingbarack

@57 Of course you would find her funny because you have a runaway slave/ nig.ger mentality too. It’s fine. Uneducated minds think alike and share the same humor. That is my opinion and I am entitled to it.

You just proved yourself as an idiot. You said Sade is pronounced Sha-day, so why is your homegirl Wanda saying Shar-day? Her mispronouncing Sade’s name was one example I gave but every word she speaks is as though she forgot she was not picking cotton and that she is not “free.”
