In an interview with National Post, Sade addressed rumors that she’s collaborating with Drake and Kanye West:
I don’t think they have contacted me. I’ve never collaborated because I’ve always avoided working outside my safety zone — I can be exactly who I am and can fail or success within the moment. I feel safe working like I do. I wouldn’t want to work in a situation where I am expected to deliver because I think I wouldn’t deliver.
Modest much? When asked about the next album, she admitted that she hadn’t listened to Soldier of Love in its entirety yet and that “I won’t know what our next album is going to be until we do it.”
Why would a legend like Sade work with some damn Drake?

We never saw her shakin her a** half naked around the stage or selling overt sexuality in order to convince folks to buy a record. We never saw her taking pictures to show the world what the body part she takes a dump with looks like. Gross! When the record company tried to split her from her band she refused. @ #2…..you took the words right out of my mouth, “REAL MUSIC”! I’m late so I need to go out and get her CD. I saw the video and watched over and over again. It was dark and sexy. Whaaaat? A 50 something yr old woman fully dressed made a sexy video. The video reminded me of Kanye’s video ‘U can’t tell me nothing’ or whatever the title was.
Yeah I must buy it so the record companies will stop hyping up all this BS that they call music nowadays. There is good music out but it has taken a backseat to foolishness and selling sex.
I feel led to say that this beautiful, talented woman did not win a lot of awards. She and other GREAT artists like Anita Baker didn’t get all the recognition they deserved during their time b/c the mainstream was infatuated with Ms. Houston. And the same thing goes on today.
I could careless who the media try to bombard me with I am not that impressed with the pop ‘icons’ of this generation. It seems like they are more concerned with being in front of the camera and making money than making good music.
I went to Sade’s website and one of the producers said he didn’t understand how ppl can put an album together in a month. Well I guess they can and that’s why it sounds like $h** And there are enough ppl/fans out there that like to listen to $h**. It’s a free country lol. But most of the music I hear today is fun, cute and catchy but that’s about it. It’s nowhere near the level of MJ, Sade, Anita Baker, etc, etc.
