Ciara has been working diligently her fourth album, exclusively with The Dream & Tricky Stewart. They’ve done a good job of keeping most of the material under wraps, with no leaks.
But drawing closer to the release of the album, and promotion of the new single, “Ride,” featuring Ludacris (which she’s already shot a video for – check some behind the scenes footage, below the cut), it seems as though they’re trying to give listeners and fans a taste of what’s to come on the new album, which is slated for release later this year.

But does CiCi buy her own music? Could CiCi remain on the scene without her supporters? If CiCi’s image lacked demand, one or two things would happen, either she would reinvent herself, or the corporation would pull the plug on her. Again, I don’t put CiCi on trial, I put her supporters on trial, and their lack of standards. If she lacks talent, why keep buying her?

I agree with @UrbanGurl, 1)Ciara is a 24 year old woman not a 17 yr old girl. 2) Ciara has to do what’s in demand! Ya’ll aren’t buying music anymore so she has to appeal to anyone she can to buy music otherwise she would get dropped. All these artist feel this pressure it’s a chain of reaction due to music sells being so bad!

this is like going back in time to last year when all ciara’s fans were yelling the same thing ,but her album didn’t do so well. This song, both songs, are just o.k. i wouldn’t buy her album until i heard a bootleg one first. Oh the lyrics are nice but i would like to have heard Monica, Alicia Keys even Bey sing this

Umm when Ciara can be requested to sing a rendition for the likes of Barbera Striesand, duet with the likes of Celine Dion, convicingly sing a ballad at the Oscars with conviction-then maybe her and Beyonce w/b comparable.

Yeah she sings shallow pop music along the lines of Rihanna and Gaga-but unlike them she has versatility as an option. I think the songs are cool, It kinda reminds me a bit of Mariah Carey’s “Ribbon”, and The Dream is becoming redundant. I actually liked Fantasy Ride..so hopefully she can control her leaks. I wonder how if she’s gonna go with the old “tried and true” at the request of her fans, or dabble again?

Beyonce’s “speechless” and this one are worlds different because they have different meanings and are telling different stories!
There are to many singers that can out sing Beyonce, Ciara, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Kelly Rowland, Britney Spears and so many others. Beyonce appeal to majority people outside her stans is her catchy bubble gum music not her voice. Same goes for all of them!
Btw why do Beyonce fans love to put her in a category with the likes of Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Yolanda Adams and more. Ask any regular person what they love about beyonce they would say her catchy music or butt shaking not her singing, ask them what they love about Ciara they would say her dancing not her singing, ask them what they love about Janet, Lady gaga, Rihanna, JLO, Ashanti and all of them and they would say everything before they even mention their singing! Not only does she look objectified, like a “thing” – not a real human being with thoughts, feelings, and self-respect! But she looks grotesque! like some kind of bendy, twisty doll proped up into several poses that allow for “easy entry”. It’s sad really. And you’re RIGHT! The reason people flock to this BS like moths to a flame is because we’ve been de-sensitized to it. If a 6 year-old is hearing this on the radio, listening to it at home (where family and friends play and sing along to it), watching the video and seeing/reading about her (or those like her) on the internet, then NATURALLY that six year-old will think nothing of wanting to wear a bikini bathing suit, shoes with heels, and kiddie make-up. Of course the kid wouldn’t think anything of trying out the latest Ciara dance moves at the next BBQ or picnic. And it goes on and on and on from there.
But then again, it may be just me! After all, I did obtain both my Bachelor’s and my Master’s degree’s, a good career with great pay, benefits and room for growth, open my own successful side business, & bought my own house (where I lived happily ALONE) BEFORE I got married (1st) and had my 2 children (2nd)! I truly believe that if I didn’t have the music I listened to be the mainstay of popular radio in my youth, that things could have turned out a lot differently. Listening to KRS-1 “preach” to me over the radio airwaves sternly telling me, “YOU! MUST! LEARN!” and then reciting biblical geneology and black history in song that made me simultaneously bob my head and run for my bookshelves for historical reference material and the coffee table for the family bible. Even Ice-T and NWA had their moments of clarity. Slick Rick’s “Hey Young World” is something I play at home for my 4yr old. 90′s Ice Cube is still viewed as an informational audiobook. The lists, the lessons and the lasting impressions and repercussions go on and on… Just as it does today. But it’s all twisted now. But I digress… *let me go download “Ladies First” on iTunes right quick*
Oh yeah…Ciara…. Listened to “Speechless”. Like Lady GaGa’s much, much better. Also, couldn’t help but think just how much better the track would have sounded if CHRISTINA MILIAN was on it instead. Not only would the vocal would have been better, but the words would have rang more true. Authentic. With Christina Milian’s backstory, I think people would have been feeling her on this track and believed her when she sang the lyrics. *raises fist in air for Black LOVE / Black MARRIAGE*
