MUSIC NEWS: DRAKE SPEAKS ON NEW VIDEO / MTV SAYS THEY DIDNT BAN GAGA & BEYONCE’S “TELEPHONE”

Drake’s upcoming music video for his new single “Over” has been teased through an on-set clip. It features the Canadian rapper rapping to the camera in front of white backdrop.

“This is my first video,” he told MTV. “I’ve shot a lot of videos before, but this is my first attempt to establish myself as Drake the artist. Shooting the other videos I’ve done has been great. I really don’t care what other people think about them, they were great experiences for me. I’ve learned a lot from them. Today, I’m shooting with somebody I really look up to and respect.”

The video is directed by Anthony Mandler. “We talked colors, we talked epic, emotion-evoking visuals,” he shared to fans. “The story is actually interesting. The song is so aggressive, and it’s sort of a love story in the video.” Drake’s debut album, “Thank Me Later” is scheduled to be released later this year.

LADY GAGA & BEYONCE DIDNT GET BANNED

In the wake of reports that surfaced over the weekend claiming that MTV had banned Lady Gaga’s nearly 10-minute-long video for “Telephone,” a spokesperson for the channel clarified the situation earlier this week:

MTV did not ban Lady Gaga and Beyoncé’s ‘Telephone’ video — in fact, we premiered it on Friday, March 12, on-air and online at MTV.com, two days before this story was falsely reported,” said MTV Executive Vice President of Music and Talent Amy Doyle. “Fans can continue to catch the video as we repeat it on-air and online.”

The video has reportedly been viewed more than 14 million times on YouTube since its release last Thursday.

    LOL…some of y’all are straight buggin….

ummmm, this is the person who did that telephone artwork:
    http://yamino.deviantart.com/
this person’s a fan…this isn’t the official poster for the video.

Money still is and always will be the route of all evil, the question is what are you willing to do for money?? so please dont be suprised by what some of these artists do for money. Consumers( meaning all of you who complain) please don’t contradict yourselves, don’t complain about how appalled you are about an artist and then buy their music or watch it on TV. I promise you the less attention you give some these artists that you complain about the faster they’ll change their strategy because ultimately money they earn comes from YOU( the consumer)!

@20, stop judging. You ain’t nobody.

Banned???…who the hell started that rumor. I’ve seen the video on MTV twice already. Once it was the long verison and the second time they shorten it a bit. Idk where this came from. But this should put a fire under MTV’s behind to show more videos. And not just from late night until early morning. Like more than ever videos need to be shown. This would be the right time to consider bringing TRL back. It is dearly missed. 106 and Park is just awful, while MuchOnDemand is great but it’s only shown in Canada. TRL showed a variety of videos and the industry still needs that and the rumor of Gaga’s and B’s video being banned just proves that.

Drake Shut up and release the damn album already so I can go purchase it damn.

It is very clear that most of the people who have watched this video don’t “get it,” which is fine. However, I would refrain from trying to make a performance into somebody’s actually life i.e. Beyonce is “really” a lesbian because she is being read as a lesbian in this video (this is ridiculous). It is called a performance for a reason- there is a beginning and an end.

Hint, hint: The name of Lady Gaga’s album is The Fame Monster…

  7. Anon.

I was about to say: WTF? I just saw it on MTV yesterday.

  8. WTF? REALLY

people it is 2010, its a cartoon cover. deal with it. they are performers, they do what the fuck they want, and they are making paper for it. you think its garbage? at least they getting money for it, that’s what its all about now a days like you didn’t know, smh. next!

  9. Diva

^^I know, right? Gaga and Beyonce are ENTERTAINERS. They aren’t doing anything that the likes of Madonna haven’t done already, so what’s the problem? What’s the difference between what they do and what actors do? The “Telephone” video was supposed to be a mini-movie, not a typical music video. People really need to get over themselves. I’ve seen much worse on MTV reality shows. And I wish people would realize that the cover was made by a GaGa fan. That isn’t the actual cover for the single. LOL

And I’m sure if this was “Little Miss Sunshine,” her stans would be raving over this video (I see most of them are making the negative comments). But I forgot, this is Beyonce we’re talking about. It doesn’t matter though. This won’t affect Beyonce one bit. She’s keeping it moving just like she always does. She just performed with A. Keys in New York last night. That sent the crowd into a frenzy.

  10. Shellboogie

PEOPLE, we are all aware an alledged “Fan” created the poster and sent it Lady Gaga.

But, please don’t be fooled, a picture of that magnitude HAS to be approved by both camps BEFORE being released or IT WOULD HAVE BEEN REMOVED IMMEDIATELY !!!!!

    Need I say more!!!!!

  11. DamnClown

    __–Judah where you been!!!!

  12. Dude-N-Htown

Well HOW STUPID do most of yall sound saying Beyonce is doin this for attention when :
    #1…A fan drew the pic
#2 Beyonce is the BIGGEST star on the planet (she cud take out the garbage and it still wud be a hot topic)
#3 ITS LADY GAGA’s SONG and VIDEO..Beyonce is jus a feature. You dont even see her for the first 4 mins.

For the video to be trash, you ppl are STILL talkin about it. And Im sure most of you have saw it about 7 times…smh.

The one thing JUDAH…he is consistence. And not biased.

  13. Dude-N-Htown

    20 million views….LOL.

  14. Dude-N-Htown

Jus watched the video again….and its the dopest.

The sad thing is that Beyonce could be covered from head to toe dressed in a habit, in a church singing “I Love The Lord”….and you ppl would say its a Gimmick.,,SMDH

I didn’t know sooo many ppl knew Beyonce sooo well.

  15. Truthseeker

We as the people of this country to do not realize how much power we truly have. If you are tired of seeing people such as Beyonce, degrade woman, then really take a stand. If 100,000 or more people did not buy her next album, maybe it would force her to change the way she is presenting herself. Beyonce may act dumb but she knows exactly what she’s doing. She said it herself in an interview, that she was a role-model for young woman. Knowing this why would she do such a disgusting video such as this. To confuse the minds of young woman all over the world? To show them that it is okay to dress like a slut, and to have no inhibitions. We can make a change, stop helping these artists destroy the minds of this society, of our children who are the future…………

  16. Just Me

with all the attention this “fan made” cartoon is drawing….where is he/she? Seems like a cover up and GaGa or her camp drew it. If I drew something gaining media attention, I would want my face to be seen to get my due props…hmmm. Suspicious.

The picture is so wrong on so many levels anyhow. Notice GaGa’s cooch hanging out of the caution tape and Beyonce holding GaGa’s arm to assist her pleasuring herself..and the “telephone” shaped like a pink bedazzled dildo..off the chain. SMH

    CO F*CKING SIGN
    THE HATERS ARE REALLY REACHING.
It’s funny cause bey’s sexuality was NEVER an issue but now she has a duet with Gaga, she’s suddenly a lesbian? Her haters look for the slightest reason to complain. The people criticising her better not be hoeanna stans. she admitted she’s bisexual yet you idiots still worship her so spare me your damn hypocracy

@ i love this game. STFU! DDDDAAAAMMMMMNNNNNNN

  19. READ DUMMIES

    @ Dude n htown
Yes of course you will defend this GARBAGE since you are a H.O.M.O. yourself. Most of the fans of TRANNYGAGA AND BEYONCE are anyway. The rest of us think it’s JUST TACKY AND SOOOO NOT NECESSARY FOR BEYONCE to be doing things like this. WTF is she trying to prove? It screams DESPERATION!

  20. T

My wifey Beyonce is the b i z ness straight up

  21. Katy

Beyonce can be whatever she wants as she’s proven she’s talented and not had to rely on her looks, fashion or body and she has all that and then some. She’s been on top of the game for over 12 years leaving everyone in her wake. All new, old, underground up and coming artists are compared to her. That tells the story right there besides from her being the FEMALE OF THE DECADE.
