Steph Jones premieres the Kamal Robinson-directed video for “La La Means Love”, co-written with The Dream, an addition to his Gravity mixtape.
The video was shot over a year and a half ago when Kamal asked him to sing in front of a green screen, which Steph had forgotten all about until he checked his email and there was the video earlier this week.

I’m so happy Steph made a video to this! I heard this song a while ago and seeing the video brings it right back fresh again. Steph is a truly talented and humble artist and he brings that with his music and everything he does. His music is REAL MUSIC and its beautiful and I live for more of it. I love the video, I love the song, and I love STEPH! He’s a triple threat and I can’t wait to hear and see more of him! The negativity on some of these comments just drives ambition. In all honesty, I LOVED it. I loved it when I first heard and I adore it more now that it has a visual concept to it. What some of you have to understand is, not everyone wants to be categorized. What’s Neo-Soul to YOU might be totally different in the ears to others. I understand how the lot of you feel about it, but to people like me, who understands that any music that can stop you in your tracks and make you snap to it or feel good at that moment is real music, knows this is the bomb. Steph Jones has been blessed with a voice that can move mountains and put babies with colic to sleep (I know, crazy analogy, but work with me here people). I’m happy that he decided to share this video and add it to the track list of the Gravity lifetape. I think ya’ll should try listening to it. I promise if not all, then at least 2 of you will love that mixtape.

ehhh this is the best HE has ever released but it still isn’t great. the vid sucked but it was low-budget so the recycled concept and awkwardness is fine i guess. his face is cute, voice is average, style sucks (maybe im just tired of the vest shirt jeans tie thing. i did that at some point when i was a teen-yes i’m a girl lol), lyrics suck, body is average. did i get all of it? i think i’m just harsh b/c there’s so much great underground music out there.

So i’ve been a Fan of steph j for a while now. Since 2007/2008. This song is not new. I loved it when i first heard it and still do. I’m not liking this video too much. I dont know it its just ok. I mean i could feel this song with or without watching the video. It doesn’t do anything for me. But steph is a great artist. He puts 110% into all his music, and writes everything himself. He puts out music that doesn’t ffollow the crowd yet still brings people together.

Definite potential there to be something kinda big but that video is super-corny; looks like something that used to come on Friday Night Videos back in the ’80s. He’s cute but he needs a team behind him that knows what they’re doing–marketing/styling. He can sing thoughl and he’s nice-looking, so that’s a start. And yes, he does remind me of Breezy a little bit; they favor slightly in the face/similar expressions.

No, I am not Steph Jones, but I am an advent listener of his. And no he did not pay me to say anything. I don’t know Steph, never met the dude but I hope I can one day! That came from my heart and it was my honest opinion. Also, in my opinion, I don’t think Steph has to pay anybody to write a good review; I’m not the only person who considers this good music.
@ #35 Yes, he was on all of those shows and did interviews with B. Scott (that’s one of his might frands!!) But that shouldn’t define one’s persona when it comes to something they love. He loves to sing, he loves to make frands, and he loves to make people smile and his voice does that, so why not share it?
