♫ Janet Jackson – Nothing
Earlier this week, Janet Jackson released her new single on Atlanta’s V103, and a radio rip hit the internet much to her fans’ delight.
Now, here’s the high quality version of the first single offered up from the upcoming Why Did I Get Married Too? soundtrack, “Nothing,” co-produced by former lover, Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox. According to her official Twitter, Janet also shot a video for the clip this week (watch behind the scenes footage below).
And despite the new tracks, Janet recently told Rolling Stone that SHE IS NOT CURRENTLY working a new album:
“There was a time where I was actually in the studio and I was recording, but I’m not working on an album,” she says.
“There have been a lot of record labels that have asked me to sit down and talk with them, but I don’t know if I want to do something completely independent, or go with a major.”
This is interesting, considering late last year, there were reports that Janet had resigned with her first label, A&M/Interscope and was diligently working on a new project with Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, and there was a rumored reuniting with former collaborators, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. Photos of Janet with Jimmy Iovine further confirmed the rumors for fans.
In any event, Janet stars in the Why Did I Get Married Too, which hits theaters April 2nd, and will reportedly be starring alongside Mariah Carey and Whoopi Goldberg in Tyler Perry’s movie adaptation of the play For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf, which begins shooting in June.
I Wish “SPACE SHIP” Janet would go away. I won’t lie; I miss sexy “That’s The Way Love Goes” Janet… She was a lot more successful [I’m just saying] Never the less, beautiful song. Let’s hope for the best! IM NOT A HATER, I would just hope her CAMP knew what worked best for her!

Considering everything going in on her life at the moment, I would rather she take her time then rush with something.
She always wanted to focus on acting and this her chance to do that. If she never releases another album again, she’s still an ICON and her legacy cannot be denied.
Nothing is a beautiful song not sure what the video is doing lol, but beautiful song nonetheless.

I’m glad she decided to wait on the new album. Its just too soon. It would have looked like she was capitalizing on her brothers untimely death. I love Janet with all my heart & soul. She sounds so good on this new song “Nothing” better than ever with no gimmicks. It was a pleasure I will never forget meeting her face to face looking into her eyes.

Nowadays, I hate how people disrespect artist who have been in the game for a long time. Regardless of how you feel about Janet’s singing she is an Icon, just as Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross would be to her. She’s probably just trying to have a peace of mind here of late, she just lost her closest sibling, the other icon, Michael Jackson. Why do we hate on people so much? The Jacksons have some of the most beautiful cheekbones and someone is hating on them, what do you look like I wonder, probably no Janet I would suspect, smh at us sometimes!

Janet is and will always be one the greats. I don’t think some people understand the time and hard work that she put into making a name for herself without being just a Jackson. People actually think you have to have a powerhouse voice to sing and u don’t, its not always about the riffs and runs sometimes its just a simple unique voice that is needed. The song is sung with emotion and yeah there are parts of the song that sound just like Mike….which im sure he was on her mind while she was singing it. I was hoping for an album but im sure when the time is right the music will be right. Can’t wait to see the video…and April 2nd i will sure be at the theater!
