Actress Gabourey Sidibe and a friend enjoyed some time together in the East Village at P. Chillers before heading to the train in New York City on Saturday (March 27th).
In related news, Gabby will be co-starring in the new Showtime series, The Big C, which is scheduled to premiere this fall. She will also co-star with Zoe Kravitz in the upcoming indie movie, “Yelling to the Sky”.

@1 – there’s word that she wants to, but i’m sure she’s getting pressure to do something about it now anyways. i agree it’s important for her health but the negative attention and mockery she’s getting is so ridiculous. and it doesn’t encourage someone to lose, and if it does it’s usually in an unhealthy way. i could go on about this forever but i’ll stop.

i love gabby! i met her in nY a couple weeks ago and she is really a beautiful person inside which makes her beautiful outside…she is so genuine..
I’m not sure if it’s the all black attire or if she is losing weight…but good for her if she is. Assuming the weight loss is for health reasons and not due to the Hollywood pressure. But I really want to know is why does she have on a Backpack??? I never got that trend unless you’re in grade school.

It is really funny how people are saying they wish she lost weight for health reasons. As a fellow big girl, I can attest to your weight NOT being a direct reflection on the level of your health. I have cousins that are way smaller than I am, yet they have high blood pressure and cholesterol. I am perfectly healthy with no such problems. I find it very demeaning and disrespectful. If she does lose the weight then people will say it was a shame for her to lose the weight because of the criticism she received. Not everyone can be a size 0, not everyone is happy at a size 0. I have recently lost 70 lbs and want to lose more, but I don’t want to lose my status as a big girl. I wouldn’t be me if I did.

Saw Gabby in NYC last weekend and I have to say celebrity is going to her head. I saw the woman walk up to her all excited, like “Hey Gabby! I love you!” And she acted like she was being bothered. She turned around and was like “Ok, you can shake my hand and then tell your friends you met me!” Me and girlfriend was like Wow! Some people just don’t know how to be humble huh?!

Why are people all in her clothes? she aready said she’s not “hollwood” she isn’t going to walk around in gucci just because she had a big movie role, she’s staying the person that she is and thats a great thing. Dont know about the loosing weight but as a woman, u always have to look dignified and carry yourself appropriately…i believe criticism is vital for you to make changes which will benefit you in life…and most of the time, the people that criticise want the best for you…i aint saying Gabby needs to be a size 0, and that she should wear designers all the time…but got God’s sake she’s got money..put on some good clothes and those which compliment your body type!!
