I was in “luv” w/ him too – until I saw him live and he PRANCED his little behind out onto the stage. That’s right PRANCED just like a sugar plum fairy. Nontheless the man put on an AWESOME show and makes beautiful music that I continue to support. As does John – gay or straight. Makes little difference to me as long as the music is the Truth and w/ the Roots on production it certainly will be.

It seems like as Black women too many of us spend our youths lending our time/attention to this thug types (plenty of Black boys to go around then) and then spend our adulthood lamenting the “fact” that there are no successful Black men. Maybe if we spent a little less time building up these “rough neck” types when we’re young – there’d be more upwardly mobile college graduates to go around. That whether they choose Black women or not. I’m just sayin .. a lot of Black guys I know complain that in thier younger days they are the ones that got dissed by the Black woman for being “too nice” or “boring” or some other such BS. Then when they choose White women the same girls that dissed complain that they chose a “white girl”.
Remember: Females of all ages have a hand in raising the males of society. That’s the nature of men. More simply put “Pu**y” makes all the guys fly” If they grow up getting laid for being a “thug” then it’s more likely that that’s what they’ll want to be. Then when you grown out of that shyt and want someone to go the the cooperate Christmas party – you come up short. It’s our own fault. I’m speaking as Black Woman who never went in for that thug shyt and as such never had a problem finding a real Black man.
