still havent heard anyone mention the fact that this is a remake of a movie that came just a coupple years ago…it was an indie flick. i saw it and the midget is played by the same dude in both movies.

the original was funny without forcing jokes but it seems like this one is going to be trying too hard for laughs.

Samuel L. Jackson will be 62 this year and he looks waaay better than Danny Glover – well there’s really no comparison there. My point is, I know he is not a young man anymore, but still…most black folks I can think of are still maintaining at 62 – he looks older that that.

(200,000 sold in 2008 + 5,914,000 sold in 2009 gives a grand total of 8,617,000, expect it to reach 10 million by June. It is notable that the separate The Fame Monster EP is not included in this figure, the US accounted for 36% of the total sales and 21% in the UK, and therefore Lady Gaga can be termed Mega Star).
2 Lady Antebellum Need You Now 1,733,000 albums
(Grand total of 1,733,000 as it was released in 2010, the group is only known in the US though as it accounts for 95% of its sales).
3 Sade Soldier of Love 1,711,000 albums
(Grand total of 1,711,000 also released in 2010, 62% of its sales were from the US).
4 Susan Boyle I Dreamed A Dream 1,637,000 albums
(Add this to 6 million sold in 2009 for a total of 7,637,000, Susan sold 48% of her albums in the US and nearly 25% in the UK).
5 The Black Eye Peas The E.N.D. 1,556,000 albums

At the end of June when half the year has past expect many milestones. Lady Gaga will reach the 4 million mark (10 million in total) with Lady Antebellum and Sade at the 2.6 million mark. The Black Eye Peas will follow at 2.5 million (7.1 million total). Michael Bublé, Justin Beiber and Susan Boyle will range from 2 million to 2.2 million. (Michael would reach 5 million and Susan 8 million). Alicia will be at the 1.8 million mark (reaching nearly 3 million) while Ke$ha and Rihanna will approach 1.5 million (Rihanna will reach 2.5 million). Usher will be at 1.3 million. You guys do not have to believe me but hey I will see you in July.
Reviewing the list you can see that Lady Gaga and The Black Eye peas are doing well because dance pop is selling by the truckload. That is why I think Pink was robbed at the Grammys for the pop album category she lost to BEP. Their album should be considered dance. Anyways that too explains why Ke$ha is selling. R&b is not doing a well as it use to. Rap dropped off the map.

Now let us take a look at the United States of America. Here are the top selling albums in the US as of April 4 and beside it are their total sales in the US
1 Lady Antebellum Need You Now 1,648,000 – (1,648,000 was released in 2010).
2 Sade Soldier of Love 1,055,500 – (1,055,500 was released in 2010).
3 Lady Gaga The Fame+ The Fame Monster 761,000 – (3,100,000 this include 1,658,000 of The Fame and 1,442,000 of the expanded version).
4 Black Eye Peas The E.N.D 599,800 – (grand total of 2,386,800 of which 1,787,000 were sold in 2009).
5 Susan Boyle I Dreamed A Dream 577,000- (grand total of 3,681,000 of which 3,104,000 were sold in 2009).
6 Justin Beiber My World 2.0 574,000 – (574,000 released 2 weeks ago may end up in the top 3 by year end).
7 Ke$ha Animal 545,800 – (545,800 released in 2010 may reach 1 million by September based on the consistency of its sales).
8 Taylor Swift Fearless 431,000 – (grand total of 5,760,000 of this 2,112,000 was sold in 2008 and 3,217,000 in 2009 and still selling. It will reach the 6 million mark by mid-August).
9 Alicia Keys The Element of Freedom 415,000 (1,194,000 this is poor showing by Alicia but even big stars are finding it hard to sell in this industry, of this 779,000 was sold in 2009).
10 Mary J Blige Stronger 332,000- (grand total of 726,100 include the 394,000 she sold in 2009 I honestly thought this would be platinum but oh well).
11Usher Raymond vs. Raymond 330,000 – (330,000 it is hard to predict this album, I had to include him)
I am not sure where Rihanna is but she has sold 298000 in 2010 + 499000 in 2009 for a total of 797,000 in total sales; expect it to sell 1 million by the beginning of June). A honourable mention is Trey Songz who sold 208,4000 copies of his Ready cd in 2010 and 438,400 in 2009 for a total of 647,200 he is really trying hard).
For all the Beyoncé fans her album is at 2.8 million in total sales with 1,459,000 sold in 2008 and 1,199,800 sold in 2009 with just over 150,000 sold in 2010, I don’t expect it to reach 3 million).
I will do a follow up in July when half the year has gone if u guys want me to. As a person who loves R&B looking at both lists Sade, Alicia Keys, Usher and Rihanna are representing. Hopefully Monica’s album will do well and continue to sell consistently. My prediction is that Justin Beiber will move to number 2 by mid year. He is just 482000 copies behind Sade who is currently at number 2 but his sales projection has him at 1.5 million by July and Sade at 1.4 million but we will see. I also expect Usher, Rihanna and Mary J Blige to sell 1 million in my next update. Go R&B.
The second quarter includes April, May and July and with April almost over and no major releases expected from urban acts in May except Toni Braxton (go cop that May 4) the charts look boring. However, June looks to be the BIG BANG with releases from Christina Aguilera and Drake on the 8th and 15th respectively. We may get 3 more albums in June from Ciara, Kelly Rowland and Jennifer Lopez (slated for June 29th). As I said don’t expect any new entries in the top 10. I expect Sade to slide down to number 3, Lady Gaga to slide to number4, Usher to jump to number 5.
