I can’t understand how are we really giving props to people who can’t actually sing.. This tends to piss me off at times because you have real singers who don’t get the shot to actually be where they should and you got people like drake who can kinda hold a note (auto tune helped) and we give this dude the benefit of the doubt.. This $hit is sad. I admit sometimes he can be entertaining hell this is the entertainment biz but damn why are real singers being told on here that “oh it sounds like they’re trying too hard” or ” there’s too many runs” “or they’re off key with that note” When there’s no risk in what the no singers do no harmonies no runs no nothing. Sounds void not heartfelt. No feeling whatsoever. Stop giving non singers passes and judge them the way you would some one who could actually sing..
I love Kanye’s production on this but I guess I would since I also love the 808s album.

#9 so far gone was not an album. it was a mixtape that picked up really well. mainly because of its originality in content and production wise…it sounded like an album.

WTF are you kidding me no auto tune?? Just because it’s not extra turned up like T-pain doesn’t mean there isn’t any auto tune on it.. He’s always had auto tune on his songs… Have you ever heard him sing live no and you’ll never hear it cause he can’t sing.. I agree he does stay in his lane and I do think he’s talented.. (hell I still jam the so far gone mixtape and plan on buying the album) I just wondered why he gets a pass when he doesn’t sing a quarter as good as half of the new and underated artist that are showcased on this site

On a serious note, I think he is very talented. No he’s not Brian McKnight when it comes to singing, but he does have a decent voice. That coupled with his ability to rap better than most of the mainsteam artists out right now really gives him an edge and some versatility.
I also love the fact that he doesn’t only rap about being thugged out, trappin, and flossin what he’s got. He’s doing something different, and in my opinion hip-hop really needs him right now.

I was reading the comments b 4 i listened to the tune. The feedback I was getting was mixed.
I just got done listening and its cool. Its a nice difference from what i have heard from him. When I first had heard his music its like nice and alright but then I get to hearing too much of him and it becomes too much and a turn off. I hear him repeatedly on the radio and its irritating.

So Far So Gone is an album that was put 2gether by itunes!!! If you noticed almost all the songs on the album date back his 2006 mixtapes! That was not an offical album put out by Drake and his team also if try 2 locate the album anywhere u find out cause it was pulled once his management caught wind of it, it was only out 4 about 2 weeks i think…(i was 1 of the lucky 1s 2 buy it) HA lol
This is the reason itunes is currently in the process of being sued by Drake and his management. They cost him MILLIONS which is y he is suing 4 the same amount!

My thing about it is that at least you know what key this boy is singing in, he is nothing like ray-J (remember I wish? What note was that boy was singing in??).
