New music has been leaking left and right from former Roc-A-Fella princess, Teairra Mari.
The newest of the material to find it’s way online is “Goodie Bag,” a track recorded from her forthcoming sophomore album, At That Point, which will hit shelves in June.
Teairra is currently promoting her current single, “Sponsor,” featuring Soulja Boy and Gucci Mane, as well as the upcoming film, “Lottery Ticket,” which will drop in theaters this summer.

I swear its so satisfying people…all I ever hear is negativity about new or under rated artists. Its like if its not the mainstream ones like Rihanna Gaga or Beyonce then its nothing but HATE. The song sounds smooth as hell to me…and I think Teairra is coming mad hard with the music for this album. I’ma support her reguardless…everyone deserves a chance.
You can’t deny this track is very catchy, I’ll prolly be humming the melody all day, but she does swear too much for my taste, and all of her song topics seem to be…shall we say…low brow?
AND this is basically Beyonce’s “Kitty Kat” rehashed. I’m sure there’s plenty of tracks about snatchin’ the cat back (hey there’s another one, by Khia i think) so i’m not hating on the topic THAT much, but it just seems like SOME of her songs should show mature songwriting. Some (not all) of the people who are saying negative things are frustrated to see someone with talent come across as desperate. There are black female artists who don’t rely on selling sex: Alicia Keys, Fantasia, Jennifer Hudson, Estelle, Monica, Jill Scott, Vivian Green, Erykah Badu, etc. She can probably sing circles around some of the pop artists out now, but no one will notice her talent if they can’t get past the sexual image. How will she ever get air play if she won’t tone it down?

@ SHEENA, while I think it was irresponsible on her part, I was trying to look at Erykah’s whole body of work and not judge her entire music career just on that last video. Also as unfair as it is there is a double standard when it comes to women singing about sex. Teairra may very well be an openly sexual individual, however, if she wants to go mainstream she has to conform and if she doesn’t it’s her prerogative.
