‘ROUND THE WAY: TYRA SANCHEZ WINS RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE (season 2)
James “Tyra Sanchez” Ross (pictured above with the one & only Rupaul Charles) was crowned the winner of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 2. Runners up Raven & JujuBee (pictured below) gave a good fight, but Tyra’s original fashions and stage presence took the show.
The sometimes controversial show aired on LOGO Monday night to record breaking viewership. Sanchez, the proud father from Orlando, went on to win $25,000 along with a number of other prizes.

Girly_one, if this is the highest rated show, it’s only because everyone in America who purchased a television, did so with the hopes of seeing black men “cooning” about. This is coonery at its best. The only other shows that comes close are ones with Charles Barkley and Tyler Perry (The Browns) cooning for the man.

I lovee JuJu Bee, but she looked a shitty mess at the Finale compared to Raven and Tyra. It was soo obvious Tyra was gonna win during the Lip Sync. I liked Raven look, but what she wrote on the mirror about Tyra was just plain mean and hateful. I lost respect for Raven after that.

This was not rocket science–Juju didn’t have it and Raven wasn’t as on point as Tyra was every week (she was never in the bottom 2 and had to lip sync for her life until last night). I’m happy Tyra “The Other Tyra” LOL won.
CL, I’m glad you posted this. One of the gay black bloggers, Darian of Living Out Loud with Darian, had a hissy fit that no black blogs covered the season finale of Drag Race. He specifically called out CL and a few others. I’m glad you all proved that silly queen wrong!

Where’s the story about Katie Washington, who’s the first black valedictorian in the 161 year history of Norte Dame? I agree but this blog has done it’s fair share of positive reporting but truth be told, when real issues are showcased very little people post and in order to exist, you have to show what people are paying attention to. It’s a sad reality.

Props to you Angel for having the courage to write a post about RuPaul’s Drag Race on Concrete Loop. We all know how homophobic our people can be. Never mind that the show is one of the most popular reality shows currently on television. Black blogs should be inclusive and highlight the achievements of everyone within the black community and that includes black gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people-we’re all apart of the black community.

In the final three I wanted Juju to win, but once I saw the commercial for Rupaul’s drag university and saw her there, I knew she didn’t win.
Raven was my guilty pleasure. She was an early fav, but her personality was wack and mean-spirited for no reason. Jujubee, Tatiana, and Jessica Wild were the best three for me. Watching the reunion made me ok with Tyra winning, because again Raven’s personality was wack. And some of those other bitches that were on deserved to go early, lol. Watching men dress like women can turn into a hoot! lol.
I wanted JuJuBee to win. Tyra’s personality and insistence on Beyonce made me want to vomit. I didn’t think JuJu would win but I think JuJu will go further in the long haul. Raven was just hateful and hyper-competitive (when it wasn’t necessary). Oh well, Tyra will be forgotten in a year, just as BeBe Zahara Benet was…….
I happen to look @ the Wendy Williams show one day when RuPaul was on to promote this show. I dont watch it. I cannot sit n watch big azz grown men galavant up n down n all around behaving like their mother, sister or daughter or just a downright b@/~!. I love RuPaul Drag Race, this season wasn’t better than the first season( the drags were way better looking ) in my opinion. I was shocked Tyra won, I was expecting JuJu B to win and Raven was just a two face heffa.. The video they did for RuPaul was hilarious, I think that help Tyra win.

Well he is only 20 so he still has some growing up to do but as far as drag he was definitely the most talented and if they are looking for the next drag superstar then it should go to someone younger like Tyra Sanchez. Raven is old and her face will start to age and crack very soon. She won’t be able to do it for 20 more years like Tyra can. Tyra is the only one that could step into Ru’s shoes and carry the torch.

My only complaint is that he needs to work on speaking more clearly. Vocal coach perhaps? Then he would really be killing it! & thank God he got those teeth fixed. Chile!! And yeah he does have some maturing to do but I think holding this title and having full custody of his son will help to make him more mature.
