“Everything to Me” is #2 record in the country. Jay Leno told her “you clean up good”. What did he expect? He must want something. She did look gravey, but I’ve don’t remember her having to work so hard on vocals in the past. The drummer could have relaxed a little on the crash cymbals, but I guess the musical director knew what he wanted to hear. All the 80s and 90s artist getting their second wind. Sade, Maxwell, Erykah and Monica… Unfortunately, the dollar has shrunk and they have to put in overtime. But, that’s okay! I’d rather they work hard than to see them stripping in the streets like dogs licking their tunnels.

Y’all need to quit playing Monica up like we don’t remember “The Making of Me” album where she wore nothing but a strip of rope over her naked self. She was a drama queen associated with known drug dealers and…Imma stop here, but let’s keep it real or say nothing at all.
Its time that we stop being in denial with entertainers. Michael, Sade, Whitney, and Monica all fell off. We want them to succeed, so let’s remain vigilant in reminding them of the better alternatives. She’s making good choices now, but as Curtis Mayfield said: “Let’s Not Forget”. Monica can do a lot of good work in the future, but she can never slip back into the homegirl entitlement.
Success brings about a feeling of freedom that causes people to get beside themselves. Thankfully, she still has her gift and her faith, but her past is textbook.
