Via her Twitter, Amerie released a brand new buzz single for her fans to get a taste.
Even though she is fresh off the heels of a release of her last album, In Love & War, which was her first release on Def Jam, she has announced that she is already hard at work on a fifth studio album, entitled Cymatica Vol. 1.
I’m guess “Who’s Gonna Love You” is just to show the fact that she’s been working.
Enuff is ENUFF!! Obviously you haven’t heard all 4 of her albums if you say that all of her songs sound the same. The is very untrue! Her first album was strictly R&B with barely any Go Go music, second album was filled with Go Go music ( a bunch of drums and jazzy instruments) and R&B, third album went into another direction and consisted of 80′s pop with R&B, and some Go Go music and electronic, and fourth album went back to Go Go music and had more of a James Brown and 70′s R&B, Funk, and Rock feel mixed with contemporary R&B. Amerie can so sing! It’s just a matter of opinion over whether or not you like the SOUND/TONE of her voice. Amerie has a very unique and distinctive voice and a wide and powerful vocal range. This time around, she’s been singing higher than ever which makes her voice sound annoying, but she can so sing. The best she’s sounded was on her first album, when she had a lower tone.
Amerie needs to go back in the studio with Rich Harrison and create contemporary music with beats that are mixed with hip-hop, go go, and R&B. She also needs to work with Bryan Cox again because the songs that he created for her that are on her third and 4th album are amazing!

I love Amerie and the song is alright….Amerie has a beautiful voice she’s not Whitney Huston or Aretha Franklin but her voice is descent and not garbage unlike non fake singers like Rhi He, Scarey Hilson, Soggy grandma Beyonce and Golden Child Cassie. Its sad how the industry pay more attention and spend more budget on those artist that rather sell their souls for a couple of millions, and to the ones that rather stay true to themselves like Lauryn Hill and people want to look at her like she crazy. I respect the fact that ok Amerie still looks and sound the same but at least she staying true to herself

I KNOW can’t Amerie sing either. Blame it on lack of promotion, blame it on whatever YOU like. It all boils down to lack of vocal skills. There is potential; with a good vocal coach, she could be the bomb. But as it stands, she sounds a mess!! Whoever posted that link of her vocals should have thought twice about that – it displays just how awful she is. Highly overrated. Modeling is her call, singing is NOT. It’s my opinion. If you don’t like it, too damn bad.
Amerie doesn’t make good music and hasn’t made good music in a long time. She’s beautiful and that’s the only reason somebody lets her make a record. Amerie should try the Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian celebrity route. Do nothing but attend parties and sell fragrances, she would be good at that and maybe do some modeling.
Honestly I don’t think she has to put out a record to be a celebrity, she can ride in on her looks alone. Amerie needs to get with the hottest producers like Young Money to make any good music. I get the feeling that she is writing her own stuff and it’s not working. She needs somebody else to step in and take over her music because what she’s putting out isn’t very good.
Amerie is beautiful, nothing more, nothing less. True to herself my ass!! As someone stated earlier, she got caught up in Hollyweird, with plastic surgery and fashion and her end result is poor music. Amerie just doesn’t cut it, and she has CONSISTENTLY released track after track and they are WEAK!! Her vocals are average at best, and I’m being generous. She needs to focus on getting that voice together. I listened to that youtube clip – SMH. Is she what real R&B is?!? Hell no!!
Soooo, guys, if you think Amerie can’t sing, who do you think can? Give me links of those Youtube singers, if they are really that good I might become a fan and start promoting… Show me that talent! And don’t sit around and talk shit about my girl Amerie
Good song … not sure why she doesn’t get the props she deserves.
The music industry is full of “singers” who can barely hold a note, which they TRY to transform into megastars. Amerie is one of them. She is all over the place on this track, and many of her tracks for that matter. She needs to dedicate some time to develop her voice. I hear the potential, it just needs to be developed. Until then, she will continue to be stagnant.

I couldn’t get thru the whole track. She sounds like she is straining. And reading thru these comments, I think Amerie might be self-promoting, because this track ain’t good at all. So if this is what I have to expect from Album #5, I think I’ll pass. NEXT!!

As for the song it could be way better than what it was, lyrics are lacking and there are no ad-libs smh at least it is just a buzz single.

And did I say PRETTY!! Amerie is pretty! Thing is, she really can’t sing too well. Attractive pretty get breaks, most times undeserving (as is the case with Amerie), because of their looks all the time, that’s the way our society works. It’s not right, but that’s just the way it is.
She can REALLY sing, I’ve always wondered why she’s not more famous. I just don’t get it.
