Just after the release of the fan-dedicated “Why Don’t You Love Me,” pop sensation Beyonce releases the alternate version for her past single, “Halo.”
The video still features cameos from the actor Michael Ealy and still directed by Philip Andelman.
Although promotion is pretty much wrapped on her latest album, I Am… Sasha Fierce, which dropped in November ’08, Beyonce is still managing to churn out material from that era.
Never been a fan on alternative videos. Especially seeing she already released the song and album so long ago.

Never heard of an artist releasing a video for a single that is a year old. In any case, she could have went with another director, since he fucked it up the first time.

OK, why the hell were the dogs after him? And that’s the way she reacts to seeing the love of her life laid out on the ground? I don’t get the video & why she was in the woods waiting for him. Why was he running? Why were they after him?
On another note, Michael Ealy is so damn fine, it’s hard for me to look at him for a long periods of time….lol. Damn thats a beautiful man.

Im confised to way they didn’t chose this version, over the other one. Anyway, still a beautiful song, and Beyonce is sooooo beautiful.

i like this version alot better! i can see the story line clearly! the whole video is about bey remembering the love she shared with someone who is no longer here with her! its very nice she should have just released this version!

Seems like she was meeting up w/him in the woods under cover of darkness to flee after he robbed something/someone. I got the impression the search dogs killed him as he fled with the loot. She finds him dead, with bills scattered on the ground & is frozen in shock. He is supposed to be an angel watching over her in the original version but we never knew how & why he died.
Good video. I prefer the original, but this one is GOOD too.

I like this version but i prefer the original betta.. May because i understand it, LOL.. The ALTERNATE VERSION makes my head hurts, making me think wtf is going on.. I was mad confuse at first but i have a better understanding of the concept.. Someone pointed to me that Michael is suppose to be an angel/not really there in the original version but we never knew how and why he died and i guess this version is pointing out why he died ??

To the people wondering why an alternative video for “Halo” has just come out…
It’s because this was recorded at the same time as the other video. It just so happens that they decided to release it. Artists do this all the time, particularly Kanye West did it by releasing a video for “Space Ship” back in 2009, when the album came out 4 years before. It goes that way sometimes.
Some people say that it says something when an artist is still “living” off an album that came out 2 years ago. They say she’s struggling to stay relevant, but let’s be real…this is Beyonce. She will always be relevant, she’s already established herself on that note. What this tells you is that her material is two years old and is still being requested and enamored by her fans. There’s nothing wrong with that. If people keep buying the album for over a year, why not still promote it while working on the next one? There’s still a demand there.
Let the artist be an artist. There’s no timeline for good music. It just comes.
PEOPLE LISTEN…this was shot a while back when she made the other version. I’m sure this is part of the bonus feature on her tour DVD, if that ever gets released.
