NEW MUSIC: CIARA – “I RUN IT”
After being tightly under wraps, more music has leaked from Ciara.
The new track, “I Run It,” is produced and written by the production duo, Tricky Stewart & The Dream, who will produce and write the entire album. She is gearing up to release her fourth studio album, Basic Instinct, which will follow up to 2009′s Fantasy Ride.
The album is lead by the current single, “Ride,” featuring Ludacris and currently has no solid release date, but is said to hit stores this summer.

This song almost put me to sleep,Ciara’s best work was the first album.
I mean it’s cool….It’s super sexy. Definitely not a hit, but it’s cool the production is great….I see she trying to get back to that old CiCi which is a plus….
I do however think that all the Dream’s lyrics all sound the same….like I can hear Mariah singing this too…he need to switch up his melody some…so that the songs don’t sound all the same. I am sick of Tricky and the Dream too. It’s this same kind of R.Kelly vibe for everybody….

I can’t Ciara, but this track is a lot better than the other leaked songs that I’ve heard from her. The beat is very nice and it has a nice vibe to it. The Dream and Trickey did a very good job producing this track, her vocals are smooth and ride along the track, but this song is boring! If you can’t tell that her voice was fixed with auto tune, not the T-Pain version the version that fixes errors in the voice, and pitch, then you’re in denial or a dummy. Her voice is a nuisance because it’s so airy and pitchy! She tries so hard to sound sexy and it’s so obvious and desperate. I see that she’s still trying to do the JANET JACKSON thing by trying to be sexual, soft, and sweet, but it’s not working.

I liked the production of the song, but it’s true, Ciara cannot sing if her life depended on it. Ciara can carry a tune, but that’s as far as it goes. This song is obviously gonna be a filler track, but it is very relaxing to listen to. I do hope that she has some better material on the LP cause “Ride” is so fucking garbage. And so is “Speechless”.
I was a bit tired before I played the song and now I’m even more tired .. this is something I’d listen to while laying in bed if I couldn’t sleep.

Love this song. Great love making song. However do not want to hear any more leaks from her. For me leaks spoils the excitement and anticipation. Opening a CD should be like Opening a PRESENT. I know in this day in time, its hard for the labels to prevent leak songs.

This reminds me of old Aaliyah. The problem is it doesn’t have the right balance of pop, urban and rhythm and blues. That’s something even R. Kelly managed with Aaliyah..how The Dream couldn’t with Ciara when he was responsible for one of the biggest urban/pop crossover songs ever (“Umbrella”) is beyond me. In fact, it seems Ciara’s always missing the mark. She says she’s going back to the old Ciara but that Ciara was what “Cherish” were doing, did, and are now DONE. Why would you go back to that? It’s dated. What’s next? Just because rap songs can still be reminiscent of the crunk sound, it doesn’t mean you can jump in that lane as a singer. Even if it was what you did initially. But I guess she’s trying like everybody else. A little while ago Prince would have been the perfect direction for her but now that she failed miserably with “Love, Sex, Magic” I don’t even know if people will be accepting of that.

Her record label stay putting money into her. It does have a Janet vibe to it and sounds more mature for her. I think she found her new sound. Even though I prefer her with Jazze Pha. Nothing will top her debut album. But I like it. Maybe one day she will work out her differences with Jazze and make another record with him. Like Janet needs to re-team back with Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis.
It’s ok, but I don’t see a number one hit on this one. She needs something hotter than this.

I understand where you’re coming from, but there are plenty of people who can’t sing and achieve success. Case in point: Ashanti, Jennifer Lopez, T-Pain, and The Dream (both of whom you hardly ever hear without autotune). Compared to Beyonce she can’t sing, but I think she’s better than the average person. I think the song is hot.

Artists usually don’t link their own music. People who hack into their accounts do. Ciara wouldn’t leak her own music because that would mean she would have to go back to the studio and replace those songs..
