I’m a huge Ne-Yo fan but I HATE this song and the direction he went with it. I don’t want him to try to be like Chris Brown, Kelis, Kelly Rowland doing this euro-pop ish. He’s too talented for that. Please do some REAL R&B!

  2. Sweet pea

Don’t like. Enough with the pop beats. Thumbs down.

  3. B

Booo what were you thinking man. stop thinking out the box stay with what made you all that money.

  4. Weekend_Love

I missed that So Sick sound and Mirror what happen dude??

  5. WillPwr

Before I throw my boy Ne-Yo under the bus I will listen to a few more tracks from this album ’cause I DO NOT LIKE this song.

However, I do miss “When Your Mad” “Stay with Me” & “Hate that I Love You” Ne-Yo type tunes.

  6. ZEE

SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING YOU HEAR IN A GAY CLUB! WTH

  7. The Wayno Show

Love it! This should be a huge hit for Ne-Yo. I love that Ne-Yo always keeps putting out great music. He’s such a great artist.

  8. SayItLoudHD

Despite the dance beat which is usually an infectious beat, I don’t like this @ all.

I am disappointed Neyo. I’m sorry.

  9. MsSunnySouthDallas

Aw, man… I was reading all the comments listening to the song, thinkin’ it was not that bad…. that is… until the hook began.

I’m another 1 that’s not into the pump pump pump ya fist pop muzic.. bt I do hear some songs that I like with that feel… bt all I can see are gay men in tights dancin around actin’ all happy and that’ll never be my scene. :) #un-unNeyo

  10. nicky14

This is a hit! Love it!! Great club song for the summer! Go Ne-yo!

  11. angelita

Not one of my fav tracks but I’ll still give the rest of his album a listen.

  12. Eric

I’m not a fan of this particular song. But it does follow in the same type of energy and rhythm that I’m used to hearing from Ne-Yo. His work seems to be heavily inspired by the music of MJ and I like that a lot because Ne-Yo remains very authentic at the same time.

  13. m

In fact, I LOVE IT the video can be crazzzy on some mj ish neyo will neva fade unless pens run out of ink and pencil are without led that boy can write and he has a good voice. POW!

  14. m

Ps. since everything is going toward an animalistic direction this song fits right in hes staying current.

  15. Deann Dmere

    Not feeling it..
I’m tired off all celebs jumpin on the “pop tart” bandwagon!
    nope come again Neyo..

  16. Jeri

  19. @no_box_please

I like Ne-Yo’s music but I’m not feeling this one. At least not for a first single. Anywho, follow me on twitter @no_box_please.

    Loved So Sick.
    Loved Because Of You.
    Hated Closer.
    Hate Beautiful Monster.

He’s so contrived. I can’t stand it anymore.

  21. Cosmic Oasis

This is garbage. This sounds like a throw away track. I think Ne-Yo is a good songwriter, but I personally don’t think he’s a very good singer. He does have a handful of songs that I like, but I’m not a fan.

  22. cafflo

This song will flop… GUARANTEED! I’m disappointed with my boy Ne-Yo on this one I usually like his stuff.

  23. mrs. sk8board p (ak & bk stan)

love love love ne-yo, but this song is not it

  24. seriously?

i didnt like closer at first either but it grew on me. this will be a hit

  25. oMG

WTF Ne-yo big head ass is pissin me off! Dude needs to stick with rnb. Why the f*ck you need to go the pop route? Black people and white people been buying your albums so why cross over to the other side for pop success? I hate niglets like this. Now 5-6 years ago you would have NEVER in a million years thought you’d be singing some gay pop anthem.

  26. lalala

I’m reminded of Beyawnce’s Sweet Dreams. I agree, it sounds gay club-ish. Me no likey :o (

  27. Loops

Hmm..the industry sure likes using animal and monster imagery. Who wants to get with a monster?

  28. Anon.

Some euro-pop songs are good.. but I’m not feeling this at all. < / 3.

  29. meme

LOL @ u ppl saying yall want his old stuff back. Artist have to grow and reinvent themselves to stay relevant…if not they wad be the same place Ciara is…no where. I am glad he is tryin something new. Love it, def a hit.

  30. circa-1984

I noticed almost all mainstream artist are going this direction – dark animalistic with euro trash beats. Look at the chick in the promo pic, it reminds me of the alternative “Halo” video with a mixture of Kanye’s “Coldest Winter. And don’t even get me started on Christina’s latest trash. But I digress. Definitely not a fan of this song. It’s crazy cause I was listening to Neyo on Luda and Rick Ross’s songs and they were so damn dope! Dude had me hype for his material. But – eh – this is NOT it!

  31. isysschick

I didn’t like the song at first when I heard it for the first time, but after listening to it a coulple of times it grew on me. I like the song and I think it will be a great hit for his new album.

  32. oMG

I’ve checked all the blogs and nobody really likes this song so if you’re reading Ne-yo throw this song in the trash and we’ll forget it ever happened.

  33. Roque Caston

Neyo has returned. He writes some of the best songs on the planet. I never expected him to do something like this. His music gets better and better. I don’t care which direction he is taking. I am following this amazing artist no matter what.

  34. BadGirl23

I’m soooo waiting for a some new Ne-Yo, don’t disappoint me dude :|

  35. MAXIMUM

Look, I’m all for artist tryin to experiment and do new sounds. However, it seems just about EVERY r&b artist feels the need to do that, suggesting that if they’re selling to the urban market, their sales won’t even go past 200K. What I’m basically saying is this: sometimes it’s best to stay in your lane. Sure, goin pop is working for some like Kelly but imagine if someone like Maxwell went pop…Exactly. It wouldn’t sound right.

What works for Ne-Yo is slow jams and uptempos like Because of You. I hated Closer because it sounded so contrived coming from him, whereas Miss Independent was the sound that ALWAYS worked for Ne-Yo: R&B with crossover appeal.

Playing it safe has its benefits. Ne-Yo can go the pop route but we all know who made his first three albums platinum, the urban fans.

    Booooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  37. the glamorous mixed chick..es tan fuego

I really love it..then again I’ve always been a ne-yo fan. Being a big Gaga fan also I find the title and overall sound of this song 1 that I could see her def remixing w/him (for those close minded idiots that only listen to what’s on 106 and hood she regularly references the whole monster theme so that’s why I referenced her and b4 u go w/the silly “ur a stan” bs I am a grown woman who doesn’t “stan” for any1 but myself)..anyway love this 1 and for those of us who like pop and don’t just listen to 1 or 2 types of music I see it being a favorite.

  38. LALADAY

    SHAMBOLIC SHAMBLES

  39. Smonty1227

never been a fan. liked a few of his songs. never brought an album…still keeping my money. #6…so true…#30 yes grow…but where is this going? could have kept this one. too many MJ inflections in the song…I get it…but no not Ne-Yo. is he a talent? yes…but moderate…he cannot afford this song. hardcore fans will support it…radio will play but it’s junk…like most things these days.

  40. LET THE TRUTH B TOLD

sound like a gay club mix….I’m just saying

  41. R.

This album is going to flop like Because of you did 3 years ago which almost sold 1 million but fell short and only had 1 smash hit. This song is no good and it’s a closer wannabe.
